You dont send out a player that is known for being really nervous, has a losing record against his opponent and just lost his match unless you are trying to build confidence. I respect Park for not caring what everybody else thinks because if Hero would have lost that game Park would have looked really stupid. i wouldn't have thought he was stupid at all

I don't think it was gut feeling. I agree it was a HUGE gamble by coach Park. Yet Hero needed this confidence boost more than Taeja, who was the only other viable ace here. When you're this far behind in a league, you're going to have to take gambles. Again, I think you're right about Hero not really being an ace player, but he has a great PvP. Rain was most likely the ace here, and winning against him after such a long losing streak (to rain and at the studio) is so positive for the EGTL team, more than the win itself. It boosts Hero's moral and motivates the team. It could of looked stupid, but now he looks like a fricken genious. It was well worth the risk.

Who said anything about gut feeling? HerO may very well have the strongest vP on the entire team, and can beat (as shown) even Rain when he's on his game. There are a million possible reasons for sending HerO out, and as much as I like to joke about SKT (and Park is still ex-SKT), I have a hard time believing that Coach Park would send out people simply because they've said they want to play. This is the guy who got SKT a billion Proleague championships - very few people know their way around Proleague better than him. Could picking HerO have backfired? Sure, and it would have made him look silly. But did he send out HerO just hoping that he'd get lucky? Very doubtful.

Sending out Hero is a good choice there, he already proved he has good PvP and is reliable in an Ace match vs CJ. In the first game against Rain, Hero had the upper hand initially but started his Robo too late. I don't think anyone is going to think Coach Park looks stupid for sending out his strongest protoss player. It's guaranteed SKT was going to send out a protoss, Jaedong hasn't had the best ZvP so far, so the only other option was Taeja IMO. As I said earlier Hero recently won a PvP ace match vs CJ so it makes perfect sense to me for him to send him out there again.
