This isn't balance this is 600 ping

where you find 600 ? i have like 240 in korea or 220 ... still shit but its easy playable, why you think its 600 ?

200 ping is unplayable at high level.

No because they are already pro-gamers. Bunny is not. He is a just an amateur kid with apparently an incredible talent. This is how amateurs becomes professional. And its exactly how Blizzard intended WCS for

What are you talking about? He is on that danish team.

Being on a team does not make him professional.

You guys... Hes on a team not a clan and hes playing for money. It doesnt matter if he is doing it full-time or part-time. He is a pro-gamer. Are you guys serious? Whats your definition of a pro-gamer?

have you read his contract?^^

Even if he doesnt get a salary he is still a pro-gamer. If salary is the definition of pro-gamer than there are bunch of Korean amateurs in GSL.

If you play in GSL you are winning money, and if you live in a team house you get a bed and you are being fed. Koreans may not get a salary, but they are being taken care of.

At the cost of their education and future, I'd assume. I think a lot of them are young and like you pointed out, not receiving a salary. And even if you make it into Code A, you're not winning that much money from the GSL. It's a very top heavy prize pool (i.e. bottom light)

I don't see what their education has to do with anything? Being professional in next to any performing art/sport will require you to sack your education.

The vast majority of these young progamers are not going to be able to make the big bucks in SC2. So most of them will have to eventually return to school (late) or try and enter the workforce at an entry-level position without the benefit of a competitive education.

Its pretty fucked up but no one is forcing them to stay, its their choice to follow their dream. I would assume that most of them finish high school atleast otherwise they are kinda fucked since they have military duty as well.

How do you define "high level"? Because koreans have been winning a lot of stuff under this conditions.

tell that to moonglade and all the other high lvl aus players, or any korean that's performed well in nasl. 200~ ping sucks to have, its a pretty large disadvantage, but it is absolutely playable at a high lvl. Though i would suspect that koreans playing on eu would have a higher ping than 200

Where the hell did you read that? O.o

Anyways, the time is pretty much unwatchable for Europeans, not that it matters though, considering that it is an NA event.
Guess I'll just stick to WCS Europe then. ^.^"

edit: for all who wonder, all broadcasts start at 3am here in Germany (and probably in all Central Europe)

No, far from. Also If you get used to play with ping it affects you a lot less. I played in several sponsored FPS teams in america with 200+ ping, it is not ideal but it works. If anything latency is more severe in FPS compared to RTS.

Looking at the EU code S player list.. every time I watch this I feel more and more that this will be a sick league ^.^

So who else is going to get in? I cannot help but think finale or tails that will qualify this time. There are only so many players here that can beat them in a BO3 and the list is getting smaller.

For EU Welmu and BeastQT is probably top candidates, both have solid play and they been close twice now.

Then I hope for another swede but I am starting to have doubts, I guess 4 players is still pretty good ^.^ But I thought Morrow would have good chances but his play has been a little disappointing the last weeks so my faith is declining there. At the moment I would bet on Bischu if I would bet on any Swedish player.
