We will never know, I never trust when players say "oh no this guy truly is a beast in practice!"

I think yoda and byun are like the only two players where the team mates went "Oh god he's so good in practice" and actually somewhat followed up that practice bonjwa hype.

Do you remember MC being scared to death of meeting Puma in the first NASL?
Nobody knew how good Puma was and then he just came in through that qualifier and took everyone apart
Just ahead of time, know your addiction's not a crime. It's just a smaller part of who you want to become in the end.

Hero is overhyped good time.

He really lost his swagger ever since he started to play in PL. There is none of the brilliance in his play that he used to have Maybe it's the pressure of the environment? He is way too emotional after all.

A lot of the losses are to ESF players as well.

Well that's because of balance ofc.

I'm sorry but how? The scoreline? Everyone except Oz has played bad from EG-TL.

Please explain what jeadong could have done better

Also, JYP played very good midgame, just a huge misread of his opponent army strenght lost him the game.

And Huk nervous as hell.

Stop with this, he clearly could have played better or you didn't watch the game.
You are wrong on all post you are either not someone that know a lot about SC2 or a HUUUUUUUUGE fangirl.

I know jaedong didn't play perfect but he did not play anywhere near as awful as you make it out to be. Being caught by an un scouted 7 gate and having a late roach warren he defended extremely well even though the toss messed up and lost the warp prism.

He honestly could have defended vs that immortal/sentry push better sure, but I wouldn't say anywhere close to terrible.

He played very greedy yes and should be punished by it, not even a spine was thrown down. (in the start)
If you truly can't defend your base after having a good lead and seeing that your opponent is coming not once but two and actually even three times.
Imo you shouldn't get a "well played" even not OK but "Improve you didn't play good."

#nofluff

That was my point. He played extremely greedy (I never said he didn't) and he defended about as good as you could considering the situation. He microd his units very well, got his queens to snipe warp prism and then defended. Again playing greedy and getting caught and then defending it very well doesn't = "Wow jaedong played terrible he wasn't prepared!" that's a "jaedong played super greedy should have died/taken a lot of damage but was able to defend very well considering the situation".

At least understand what you are calling terrible and what happened. He also didn't even see the army until it was pretty much at his third so yeah he had no time to put down spines.

Exactly.

But what I'm saying is that if JD was up against a better Protoss, he would have had no chance.
I may come off too hard on the kid but thats whats needed to get some sense into the EG-TL prising fangirls.

On a game related note, thats what happens when you play bad and the player you are facing is on your level and not below.

"if" is a solid argument, indeed. Next time when JD is up against a better toss, ok?
Moreover, Aria came to play after defeating really good players, it would be an understatement saying Aria is a bad toss.

His play wasn't exactly perfect either ^^

So, you didn't enjoy the game? ok

But your play is always relative to your opponent's play. It's not just about you, it's about how good your opponent is countering what you are doing, and how good you can counter what your opponents do.

There is no absolute "i play good", its always relative to what your opponent does and how hard is to react and adjust to his play.

Flash already defined "good play" in absolute terms during his early years.

That's not because nobody found a way to beat flash play that it was impossible. If BW last longer, maybe someone would have appear and show to flash "hey man, look, you are not the absolute best play !"

Was true for iNfeRnaL in Broodwar :D

Ofc exceptions like Yoda in IM and the recent guys tearing it up in GSTL but when they say it for a long time it loses a lot of it's hype and believability

That's just flat out wrong.

Indeed, by that logic bronze players are decent since they win 50% of the time.

There are better players than bronze players, so they can improve their play.

Same for Jaedong and Aria. Jaedong played better than Aria. That's it. If Jaedong played perfect and Aria played perfect, then who would be the winner ?

There is always better and worst play.

I think so yeah could take some time but have taken a good while for the points to be added on GSTL.
Usually before they added it ~24h after the match..
