i am pretty exited about this.
Root have strong koreans in Yugioh and Sage, and maybe some american player will be still awake aswell.^^
Acer has core of 3 very strong players, MMA, Scarlett and Nerchio. Versus MVP, all of them 2 of them took a map, so they should be in good form today.
But it will be close nontheless, i expect a 5:4 for Acer.

Sucks that mass muta is so hard to deal with even with phoenixs
|
The first game is already quite crazy, ParanOid vs Sage. Its a Muta/Currpotor vs Phenix/Archon/Stalker fight thats goes on for atleat 20 mins now, its at min 36 atm.

HotS PvZ is really fun to watch. This is a great game.

That engagement was so fucked on so many levels. TT

Swarmhosts would be nice, but Paranoid is really struggling for gas... @.@ I hope he has taken all his geysers by now...

This could go on for quite some time... Some Brutlords on the houses in the middel would be good, but Sages army is to good now.
|
|
Meh Paranoid ... that was a throw. Poor lategame macro. Sadly. But was fun to watch. Very tense game.
|
Awesome. Playing versus Ling/Muta can be frustrating, but Sage smacked that down with patience no problem. Inspiring play, Mutalisk regeneration is incredible in PvZ.

paranoid just stopped playing macro lategame. no injects, no worker in gas, 5000 minerals instead of building spine crawler walls... for some moments he was just doing nothing but flying around with his mutas :D
and sage never took the base at the 3 o clock position. and didnt build a mothership core to clear expansions and recall as soon as the mutas are in his base.
...
really weird game...

Paranoid just went full Acer zerg. make all the air units and never leave the game!

He could've camped over Sage's last mining base where he could not have been reached by ground units.

Still better than BL/Infestor camping

The entire second half of that game I was thinking to myself "Wow, Paranoid is really chipping away at Sage, he's fucked yo".
I ain't even mad.

Oh god... if this delayed darkshrine works, I see alot of rage incoming... @.@ edit: nvm, nerchio's spores standing strong.

I see that skytoss is still pretty good against zerg.

Did Nerchio GG or just leave? I didn't see the GG but the caster said he did.
Questionable call to send Nerchio out to try Ling/Muta against Sage after it didn't work in Game 1.
|
I love you Nerchio and PvZ is sort of a joke right now I'll grant but watching your PvZ record on stream I will grant 10000% your game knowledge is far beyond mine, no argument, but obv. yours isn't exactly working out for you right now so let me bring you the stepladder and you can leave the tall pedestal.

Well I think it will be hard for acer to turn the tide to their favor. I think MMA will be the only option.
|
Nerchio playing way better than Paranoid though, despite the loss.
|
Considering that sc and Taeja all-killed ROOT it's pretty safe to say that ROOT's weak matchup is versus (Korean) Terran. MMA should defintiely be sent next.
|
Nerchio didn't have a hive, and I don't think he even had an infestation pit. "Transition" to ultras would have taken at least 3 minutes before he could even START to build ultras. No way to do that with Sage putting on the pressure.

ah dont count out scarlett.
|
What pressure? He was defending the DTs very well & threw his army away on the other side of the map, Sage had his army split defending bases. He had minerals to burn on enough crawlers / lings to hold off for a switch. This is presuming that he used the air harass to keep Sage uncomfortable & not letting them die in the open, easily surrounded by phoenixes.
|
Must be a mistake with the pylon, maybe ther ewould be a reason for it in PvP, but not pvt i think. not really a huge deal anyhow.

Nice opening by MMA, he is way ahead now.
He accidentally built a 2nd Factory though thinking he needed it for the Starport (he already had a Factory from his Widow Mine opening), must not have a lot of experience with this opening.
|
That was complete fail by Sage. He could have completely avoided the bunkers at MMA's natural by going behind the mineral line. Really disappointed with his play in this game. Not sure why he didn't go for it after the mines took out his probe line.

I don't understand why some Zergs go Roach/Hydra against a Terran opening with Bio. It more expensive and less mobile than Bio all while not really any stronger in a direct fight on similar supply.

Because it feels like you can actually engage an army head on from time to time.Meanwhile with Zerglings/Baneling/Mutas you always have to dance around carefully and need some great flanks etc. for engaging. It's just feels easier to control Roach/Hydra. And if you make good usage of Vipers you can do decently. That said, Vibe didn't seem to do anything particularly well.
|
with how much vibe has been complaining about not being able to beat terran (and this is just random terrans on ladder) why would root send him out vs mma?
|

From what I can understand, some zergs feel like they have to open roaches against terran due to hellions/hellbats. Going roach/hydra from there is just natural as the missile attacks upgrade would only be useful on a roach/hydra combo.

Ahhhhhhhhhh. Feels good. An injection of good old MMA TvZ, HotS style. Loving it.
I thought about switching to T for a while, but the fact is TvZ and TvT are enjoyable enough to watch without playing them and PvZ and PvT and PvP are much more enjoyable if you understand them better, so playing P seems the best choice if you want to enjoy the most SC2 as a viewer.

But Broodlords aren't that strong anymore. Especially when the Terran plays without tanks anyway . The Broodlords will never actually really be able to engage to mobile Terran force . Without the Infestors of old the Terran can just run circles around the Broods.

Some players will definitely play in EU/NA. Polt lives in NA, and would likely play NA. ForGG would likely play EU, and both of these players would be favorites in their respective regions. Koreans on NA/EU teams might also play in these regions as well.

MMA........................................
|
MMA noooo I guess the "old" MMA is back in the sense that his TvZ is sick again but his TvP isn't quite there. Great play by Sage though, cool to see him again.
|
Strange choice by MMA to engage their, maybe he thought his position was good enough with the high ground there. I think waiting for his 2/2 would've been a much stronger choice.
|
That was not a clanwar, this was Sage vs MMA :D

And Team Sage beats Team MMA!

Well, that's disappointing.
Should have just had a MMA-Sage Bo9 match :p
|
TvP is so boring to watch. Toss camps till 200 deathball and 3-3 while Terran tries to slow him down. With the new HotS defensive abilities of Protoss it's even more like that.
Where are the forward and back games with lots of fights? I feel like TvT and TvZ have way more action.
The last game had some early action but then it resulted in the same direction of one big fight ^^
|
MMA never figured out that well TvP in WoL... and is quite ready to do so in HotS.

That's not the problem. A Terran who tears a toss apart looks awesome *because* of medivac boost.
But a toss that tears a terran apart looks like he sits there until the death sentence....
