There is most certainly a cultural element at work in Korean dominance; 'tis not only how they practice but why they practice.
What I said is a general description that does not take into account the infrastructure, community, schedules, personnel, or personal motivation of Korean teams. But all of it serves to create better dedicated practice, which is the key difference between Korean and foreign players. The very best players usually create their own specific schedules and habits which distinguishes them from their peers.

What. the. fuck. That screaming sounded pretty creepy.

Same goes for infrastructure and mentality - the Koreans ( usually) have it all, and talent, whereas foreigners only have some of those. Yeah sure, but I mean, in the Netherlands we have a gold medalist at snowboarding. There are no mountains in our country. That is not good practice environment but with enough dedication anything is/should be possible. But not with SC2 it seems
Does this gold medalist practice in the Netherlands?

Regardless, at this point I'm expecting an all korean top 8. I'll be respectful about Stephano loses when Stephano fanboys are respectful about them.... Which makes you as childish as you think they are. Nice logic. Did I say I actually cared if I sounded childish? Naw man I couldn't actually care less if I sound childish online/to Stephano fanboys -.-

For example by all accounts Dan Henderson was a workhorse (Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler, PRIDE Middleweight Champion, probably a hall of famer in any MMA conversation) and that didn't stop him from getting starched and choked out by Anderson Silva, who trained with fucking Steven Segal. Bad analogy, anderson silva fights with massive advantages in MMA, the dude is has super long limbs and is super tall for his weight class (he is taller than most LHW's, he is taller than the greatest HW of all time). Who's the greatest HW of all time? Fedor obviously. But it depends on if you mean in an absolute or relative sense. I think relative is the only one worth mentioning as absolute is pretty much always just who is the best now.
I agree.

I love this GAME now. VASTLY superior players just SLAUGHTERING these terrible foreigners. This is how it should be. I was so sick of garbage like Goswwser winning against players like MVP. It was a fucking joke.
Everyone knew the last year of WoL was a terrible joke.
This tournament is a godsend. Watching these insanely skilled koreans just slaughter through the terrible patchzergs.
GG HotS has succeeded in every way possible.
Nothing is OP, it just looks that way since ironically, the game is actually balanced hahahah. Korean zergs, protosses, and terrans all winning.
Yawn.
User was banned for this post. #fungaled This is absolutely fucking true, sorry. Now ban me please so that I can enjoy this beautiful ro16 full of players that actually deserves to be there.
I agree with his train of thought, I just thought it was funny he typed all of that to get banned.
I stand by my #fungaled, though I may perhaps downgrade it to a plain old #broodlinged.

The Korean SC scene has a long history of being a legit sport with real teams that have coaches/managers. It also helps that the entire scene is situated in and around a single city. That kind of development just doesn't exist outside Korea.

Also Koreans don't have to stream as much as foreigners do because of the infrastructure already in place with the team houses in Korea. So it has a lot to do with the infrastructure allowing them to practice like crazy without worrying about exposure and the willingness to do so.
The infrastructure didnt build itself though. Most ESF Koreans sacrificed salary for a practice house. The problem with the foreign scene is that all the major tournaments are spread out. They need something like the GSL to center their houses around.

Just as how you can root for any player or team in any sport, you can root against one. Disliking/ cheering against a player doesn't mean you're being disrespectful. Anti-fans will necessarily exist just as much as fans will.

I think this could be a 3-0. Polt is one of the favorites to win the entire thing.

Fedor "the emperor" emelianenko. Nobody even really compare...

Popularity+structure=success. Korea has a 10+ year experience of both at this game. The rest of the world has had neither.

i love MVP but honestly i was not very impressed with his results today. both bomber and late looked more dominating, and i would not be surprised if MC can take him down. i mean its a close call, and its really annoying with all the MVP fanboys who chant that MC has no chance. MC looked in much better shape against herO (who is a very very good PvP player) than MVP did against that foreign protoss whom he almost lost 2 maps to... im excited for their series nevertheless.
