Today's games will be commentated by Kevin Knocke and Kibbelz!
NOTE: We have changed the naming schema for this season of IPTL. We will now be naming our seasons by year (though I know you were all excited for IPTL XXVI). This will be IPTL 2013 Season 1.
EDIT: For more clarification, the very last sentence where it lists the social media it says IPL5 instead of 6. Which doing a bit of research has been on at least two other OPs. I'm surprised no one has caught it before (or have and never mentioned it)

Then it was probably played before he joined, Idk.

Many teams give their players chances to prove themselves in events like this. That and maybe they have more faith in TLO since they actually know his play intimately.

Yeah, TL is throwing this. Not sending HerO followed by Taeja is foolish, even with Taeja's injury problems he was good enough to get through GSL.
They're not sending in Taeja not because they think that he won't be able to perform, but because they don't want him to exert himself when he's injured since Code S >>> online team league.

I didn't suggest they didn't think he wouldn't be able to perform. I suggested they don't care enough to put their best players in to try and get through, though obviously the injury complicates things. People need to take team leagues more seriously. Perhaps it's the lack of a serious prize pool, as I talked with Nazgul about.

They are noth sending him in ProLeague, and that has massive prize pool. It must be something more serious.
I want to note to everyone that Team Liquid may not have known where they were at vis-a-vis map score when these games were played. We didn't forsee this situation arising or we would have made sure that TL did know. We'll keep an eye out in the future!

They didn't send him in PL because of his focus on GSL and injury, but that's irrelevant.
It can't be massively serious if he can play well enough in GSL. But anyway, there's no point arguing about it since he's not playing.

I see. Unfortunate that a situation like this would arise, but you couldn't know in advance.

You have to expect a team would know what they need to do in what is essentially the biggest non-Korean based teamleague.

I hate to say it but it sounds like that's at least partially the team's fault. Still, it's a situation that should'be been avoided :/
If they were gonna play Hero, why not play him 2nd since he would have the best chance of killing DRG (and the rest of MVP for that matter)? They needed to win 5-1 to advance, but wait until it's too late and then play their ace?

Not if the match was played before IM vs MVP was streamed then there would be no way for them to know. They could have asked but were probably focused on the match it self.
No shame in losing to DRG. Honestly, just about any pro team would do that nowadays. Liquid more so, solely because it's zerg-heavy, and DRG's zvz is incredible right now.
In hindsight it wouldn't have really mattered, but considering that they had to win 5-1, it's a bit surprising that they played Ret as their second player after TLO. That meant they were literally banking on Ret scoring 4 wins, which... really won't happen verses a team like MVP.
I'm guessing they just didn't take that into consideration and played as if the map score was irrelevant.

At the time these games have been played TL didn`t know about the map score and at which score they need to win against MVP to advance.

Ever since he left SotG his visibility has dropped to zero. I miss him.
I'm not trying to say that he doesn't play anymore or that he will retire, because of course I have no fucking clue, but according to his twitter he has been throwing it down in WoW lately.
