Vikings poke around DRG's overlord. DRG double expands to a 3rd and 4th as his first investors pop. DRG goes for burrowed investor runbys to Mvp's 3rd, which forces a lift but not much damage done. Some harrassment on both sides do damage to both players' 3rd and 4th bases. Mvp is ahead on upgrades but DRG's hive is almost done, and he starts a late spire and later another spire too. Supplies are pretty even, I can't tell specifically on LQ. Mvp continues hellion runbys to do minimal damage. Mvp adds the additional starports as DRG's greater spire is morphing. Mvp moves out to try and hit the pre-BL timing, and DRG tries to delay with investors. DRG fails to push Mvp back with his beach balls, and takes poor trades. DRG has a bad supply block, and his first BLs die to vikings. Mvp's tank-viking-hellion pre-BL timing seems to do strong damage, but emergency roaches do clear it up. The roaches go for a runby at Mvp"s natural, doing minor damage. Supplies are even again. Mvp only now starts to clear creep. In the meantime, DRG and Mvp's 5th bases go up. DRG's ultralisk cavern gets up and Mvp moves out again with a scary tank-hellion-viking army. Excellent splits help against the fungals, and he takes out all the brood lords. Mvp moves in and takes game 1 against DRG! It was a pretty good game with a strong pre-BL timing, worth a watch for the final engagements. | ||
