It's a toss up between Mvp and DRG.

He might have slumped during this last few months, but it was only less than 2 months ago he came second in OSL so overall I'd say this was his year.

Maybe Life, but I dont know really its hard to say, theres so much Inconsistancy with players in sc2, at one point taeja is compeltely unstoppable, a month later hes losing 7-0 to a protoss ![]() Same will happen to Life. Remember when Seed was a big deal? ^_^ Parting is the only one of the new kids that has justified a candidate status for any of those prizes imo.

May I remind everyone that Snipe nerf was in this year, and so was the turn-around decision of not buffing ravens. Both were caused by one single player. Not to mentioned that his last achievement was 2nd in GSL Season 4, which still wasn't too long ago.

Ehhhhhhh. Life, Parting, Mvp and Rain so nope. Where was Life/Rain or to an extent Parting before September?? It's the player of the YEAR, not the player of our short term memory ![]() Parting got 1 GSL top 8 and 1 GSL top 4 before September.... So did many else, that's just a lame argument Actually not really. Very few players have gotten a top 8 and top 4 in GSL this year. Pretty much Taeja, MVP, Parting, DRG, and I can't think of anyone else. HerO Yeah I remembered MC as well. So 6 players have. Still obviously very very hard. Yeah but how many of those made another ro8 because Taeja did. Personally I would give it to Taeja for dominance in and out of Korea plus the whole Team Taeja thing.

Add another top 4 in GSL, second place in OSL and a second place at another MLG championship and arena and one notices he has quite a lot achieved. He might have slumped during this last few months, but it was only less than 2 months ago he came second in OSL so overall I'd say this was his year. Damn, I forgot how much DRG won at the beginning of the year. That's insane when you think of it like that.

Ehhhhhhh. Life, Parting, Mvp and Rain so nope. life, parting and rain only had an impact on the past few months. stephano has been dominating all year. only guy i'd give it to over stephano would be MVP Dominating foreign tourneys, especially euro tourneys with very few koreans at them doesn't count. Stephano also hasn't been dominating anything lately. No way he deserves player of the year over a korean. such an annoying argument. Stephano beats koreans at every damn tournament. and not just koreans, the best koreans. every tournament he is in, he is a threat to win. you have to win foreign tournaments to be up for the player of the year because there are only what, 5 GSLs? No Koreans other than MVP kept such a high level of play for such a long time. And Stephano won LSC2 just a month ago, got 3rd at ESWC the week before that and nearly reverse all killed Team Korea at the GSL WC last weekend. Dude is still playing fantastic. when looking at the whole year, MVP and Stephano are the two best choices. I would have went with MVP, but Stephano is deserving. No I can't agree because I place very little value on winning euro tourneys because no koreans are there besides hero/taeja usually. MLG/IPLs are 10x harder to win than any major euro tourney due to the level of koreans at those events. Lonestar I don't count as a major tourney either. Stephano wouldn't make my top 5 or even top 10 player of the year and no foreigner would. My top 10 would be all KRs.

He did change the ZvP metagame in the start of the year, and have consistently been at the very top of the game through out the year. the story of Life in 2012, is basically a break out performance towards the end of the year and a very quick rise to the very top. but for most of 2012, he wasn't really someone we saw a lot from. MVP's story in 2012, is basically proving that while injured, he's still one of the very best players of the world - but ultimately the injury is important, and it's hard to name him the player of 2012, when the majority of the year the injury has held him back from showing the level of play we saw from him in 2011. Rain is the break out elephant, and while an very impressive switch to sc2, it's still just a short portion of the year. Parting I think would probably the best pick for player of the year. Showing stunning PvT in the start of the year, making him the one the favourites towards to play-off of GSL season 2, being a good contender for best protoss in the world at the time, followed by his success later in the year, with his won-won-won and BWC win, once again putting himself at the very top of protoss players once again.
