Well, these are gonna be the least watched final games ever. GSL seems so random atm, the results seem like a coinflip, and the top 4 right now are 4 players noone really expected there, and imo don't belong there, but oh well, we'll jsut see the champion fall out of the ro32 next season i guess....
Unless it's ryung. i like ryung.

Don't underestimate the fact that the community is on tilt over balance, and the fact that many players have been traveling and preparing for other tournaments. Plus November GSLs seem to be notoriously weird in general; just look at last year's...

Kind of sad the amount of bashing the Ro4 participants are getting here. Ryung played really good positional games all through his run, Bogus has looked really good, Sniper has been solid for ages now and Hyun's A-game is one of the scariest I've ever seen.

I guess as far as star power goes ya I suppose this final 4 is lacking but I'm actually a little giddy at the idea of a Hyun vs Ryung final at IPL.

People need to stop hating on Sniper. You know how big names become big names? By beating the guys who used to be big names.

WCS completely dominated by Kortoss & then a top 4 of GSL with 2T 2 Z.

Right so! TL is so full of balance whine and "who is the best" player-fanboy-shit that people don't see that currently the CodeS-Level is so high. On a good day with nice builds most players can take a series of each other or die quickly if they mess up just a little bit.

I like upsets and hope for great semis and Sniper vs. Innovation-finals! HF

Most people whine about Ro4 need to realize that most current top players are nothing special, just lucky ones, there are at least 100 Koreans who are at the same level, among them, nothing is a surprise. And also there maybe over thousand players can possibly beat them in a series.

Only when they repeat several chmpionships, you can see they are different, the only one currently established that is MVP. Nestea and MC's early repeat diminished their qualification.

And history tells everyone hate them first, then love. What is this kid who took boxer name vs GSL1 champion again?

The top 4 players have lost at least one game this gsl. In my opinion we've reached a very volatile stage in sc2, i won't argue balance here ( even if it has something to do with it ) but i think players focus i somewhat divided with everything that has been surrounding sc2 lately and the upcoming expansion.

Funny enough all the players in the top 4 have been defeated in tvz/zvt, and that is the match up for both semifinals.
So...it's pretty hard to point a favorite...i think Hyun has the best shoot, but that is based on him fight club performance, who knows how he'll play on the big stage.

How the fuck did Bogus 3-0 a zerg?
I know Soulkey is a kespa player so it's far easier than against the likes of Leenock and Life, but still that's impressive.
Maybe he has a chance vs HyuN too!
Ryung should beat Sniper but I don't wanna see a TvT final, I want to see Bogus win another two TvZ lol.

I just love the whiners down there that don't watch the games, barely follow the results and come here in flames saying the game is so random, the sc scene makes no sense :/

Whining is becoming a form of art down here, just like rethorics in ancient Greece.

Bogus is playing like a fucking stud and that all there is to it. Just watch game 1 vs Soulkey. And if you think Hyun doesn't belong in the GSL semis you haven't been following much SC lately. So what ? The state of the game relies on the fact that sT.Life lost a ZvZ series against a Kespa A-teamer ?

Common sense ... Please !

Wow, didn't expect today's results.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of any of the players remaining, I still think they absolutely deserve to be there and will deliver exciting games. They also each have their own story lines:

Ryung: one of the players that seem to come out of the Slayers mess unaffected, can he prove himself in his new team, maybe redeem his team in the eyes of the Korean SC2 community (his teammate Crank seems very unpopular). Also, he is one of the old mainstays from GomTvT times and always was overshadowed by MMA, can he finally take some spotlight for himself?

Hyun: the fight club god seems to be on his way from the online beast to become an offline beast as well. A championship here, combined with his incredible online results, would certainly cement him as one of the big new zergs, maybe even the big zerg. Yes, the fight club results really are that impressive, without the hyperbole that quickly comes with hot new players. 'sup Life?

Bogus: leading the Korean ladder, having an insane win percantage there, finally a challenger of Rain for the title of the best Kespa player to make the switch. Also, possibly, a hope for Terrans. Has already proven that he has immaculate timint attacks, if he shows equally perfect macro games, he can prove that he is the complete package. Also, Major.

Sniper: Mini DRG. Copy of DRG. The other Zerg on MVP... Can he overcome this perception? Can he prove that he is on an equal level as DRG? The Dark Horse that nobody expected to be a contender.

There are plenty of stories...

I do wish we wouldve had at least 1-2 big names in the Ro4. Newcomers are great, it keeps the scene dynamic, but the storylines become harder to follow I guess...

Through the proven science of marinekingology i have discovered a way to predict this season's gsl champion:

In 2012, 5/8 GSL finalists defeated marineking at some point in the tournament
GSL 1: DRG ro16, Genius ro16
GSL 2: neither finalist
GSL 3: MC ro16
GSL 4: Mvp ro16, Life ro8

Ryung is the only remaining player in GSL 5 that defeated MarineKing (ro8)

Only 1 player has made the finals after losing to marineking (Genius) but he beat marineking later on the same day

the only final where it was a mkp victor vs a non mkp victor was MC losing to seed.

Taking this data i can hypothesize that HyuN and Sniper will not make the finals because they lost to marineking in this GSL. Ryung defeated MKP so his chances of making the final are higher. However he will lose to Bogus in the finals since MKP victors can only beat other MKP victors in the finals.

You cant argue with these totally unrelated coincidences!!

Ryung will take it. He's ready to do it big. Too many days of watching everyone else on SlayerS getting the glory. He's been waiting a long time for this
