In other Sports it is considered badmannered or impossible to give up even if the game is clearly over so I think you should be able to cope with MKP staying in the game for 5 minutes longer than he should.
He was probably just pulling himself together. That one shot at the end of the game said it all with that intense look of frustration.

Having one cc to three bases,down half the supply while cornered in your main is equal to being down 3-0 with 20 mins left in a football game?I don't think so.
There are plenty of examples football and basketball where there is still time on the clock and players just choose to not play it out because the game is obviously lost.

Which would be accurate if a starcraft match was going for a certain amount of time. But since the end is decided by either every building being destroyed or the player leaving, it is not comparable to e.g. soccer.
