I think Hyun will have too many super recent games to look at for Creator. I like Creator and maybe he has a trick or 2 left but I will make the unfortunate call of 3-2 Hyun.
I really don't know for the other match. 3-2 Ryung I guess just because I really liked his play in the RO16 but w/e really, whoever plays better is fine by me. Though Ryung randomly winning a championship would be kinda sick and he might be the only player left who can take down Leenock (ok maybe his TvZ isn't that good yet I'm not sure but I think that matchup would be sick, too bad it can't be the finals).
Oh yeah and MKP ended up being the only player this season who knew how to pick a group apparently.

This, 100 times over. It's no coincidence that the one player who actually decided to use the group selection ceremony as a chance to pick one of the readily identifiable weaker opponents instead of some glorified ego contest was the one who made it out.
If GSL champions applied some of their ingame decision making skills to picking opponents, the so-called champion's curse might not even exist.

Soulkey for example was considered one of the weakest in the RO16

MKP 3-1 Ryung
I say HyuN should win because of his strong ZvP and that he had time to study Creator's very recent replays from BWC. Though Creator is no PvZ slouch and probably will push HyuN to the limits, I think HyuN can do it as long as his nerves are in check and he prepares correctly.
MKP should win this because he has been looking far stronger than Ryung, but Ryung has a reputation as a TvT'er for a reason. But really, MKP is just the better player recently, and Ryung has been more of the average player.

That may be true, but he's Zerg, which is the most volatile matchup for Life, and was also his weakest on recent form at the time. Kespa players are also known to excel at mirrors. Literally any of the Terrans would have been a better choice.

This is going to be an interesting end to Code S for me, as I'm not a super big fan of anyone who has made it to the RO8. I want Ryung to win this season, but I'm not particularly invested in the results. I'm actually looking forward to it, it might be nice to be a little detached.

at the same time you can say terrans tend to do quite well in a format like GSL where you can prepare so well, especially against a player which just won a MLG and thus had tons of games to study from.
There is also some value in picking interesting opponents, after all marketing yourself and/or your team is very important for sponsors. Considering how weak Soulkey looked before it seemed a perfectly viable choice

Hopefully Creator will destroy HyuN. He only 3-2ed VortiX but HyuN is an easier opponent than VortiX in PvZ I feel so it's ok.
MKP vs Ryung will be interesting, potentially the best TvTer of 2012 vs an old TvT specialist :D.

Hyun crushed Parting 5-1 in the IPL, he supposedly went 19-1 against MC in practice. I don't see in what world Creator is favored, especially since he just played a number of PvZ's at the WCS. Vortix is infinitely worse than Hyun and almost ended up upsetting Creator.

First he is ELO favored (but that doesn't mean much), second HyuN lost to Vampire in code A somewhat recently, and third and most important : Creator is favored against almost anyone.
HyuN is overhyped because of his Fight Club success.
