Fuck, I'm so mad I missed the idra / stephano series. I was watching the beginning half of their first game and right when that first big engagement happened, with stephano coming down the ramp and around the other area to the north (sick engagement by stephano and equally sick defensive position by idra) the fucking stream crashes!!! Baaaawwwwwwwwwdamnit!

I just went to bed after that. Stream problems day1 were so bad. Really hope they fix that shit for day2.

I'm not sure if it has been said or not, but that is not a STRICTLY true fact. The king of smash, Ken Hoang, was the dominant force in the US, traveled to Japan, and dominated there on his Japanese tour when Japan was the "place to go" for smash.

Does anyone please please please have a link for a VOD for Stephano vs Hero the last deciding BO3.

At the official vod list, its missing, (not hyperlink), kinda surprised that so many vods are lacking.

Its not that good, they both played sloppy, not worth to watch.

kk thanks.

Would be cool if someone who followed the whole thing put a list of the best matches.

The matches to be seen, in terms of innovation, gameplay, no-mistakes etc

I recommend Titan vs Curious g3

+1

I just ended watching it. Awesome stuff, g2 was sloppy imho.

Game 3 was interesting, but if + Show Spoiler +
Curious
had won, we would have had a solid proof that the matchup was FUBAR.

+ Show Spoiler +
Seriously, no one should be able to hold an equal-supply army with such a big upgrade deficit. No one.
.

There are many matches showing some of the problems. Let enjoy the matches :D

Watching vods now but damn me if not Lucifron completely crushing Nevins 7-gate must have been one of the sweetest thing I have seen in a long time.

Pretty sure that Japan wasn't the best smash country (I presume you are talking of Melee since Ken was once dominant on Melee and I don't know if he played SSB but Isai dominated it so it can't be Ken) even though they had players like Bombsoldier, CJ (was it his nick? not sure, I think it was a really good sheik) and probably others, USA was at the time still better. The problem with LANs games is that you don't really get to play often vs people from other continents so it's hard to know, especially if the main representant of one continent isn't in a good day, etc.

Honestly, Stephano is 3-2 versus HerO and HerO is in and Stephano is out? (2-0 in the first bo3 and 3-0 in the first bo5)
That is something that has to be changed in this kind of group format.

Yes, I am talking about melee, and Ken said that the top level of smash in Japan was easily better than the top level of smash in USA after having versed and defeated the top of both scenes. Ken was a guy who from 2003-2007 in Melee had the best win/loss ratio of any player and formed an unbeatable 2v2 team with Isai. Isai was the dominant figure in SSB64, you are correct, but he was also considered one of if not the best teams player in melee as well. I'm pretty sure that most people would say that by the end of Melee's life USA had improved to the point it was probably #1, (though not by a huge amount), due to players like M2K, Hungrybox, Mango, etc. but for a time, Japan was really good to the point where the top player in the world thought they provided the best competition.

Do you really want extended series in a GSL style format? Really, that's the only way to "fix" this format, and I'd say that most people here will take this format over one that uses extended series any day. (I personally don't mind extended series, but I'm weird).

It is a groupstage, not the final. A final with extended serie is less spectacular for sure but in every groupstage you know, the goal is to rank all the players not just give a winner. It is just weird to chose the player who lost the match overall to advance from a groupstage.

edit: To the guy below me : Exactly, and overall Stephano is ahead versus HerO.

My personal favourite is a round-robin. This way we get to see more games and we won't miss out on any matchups.

Am I seriously the ONLY one who thinks it's about worrying that there are so few TERRANS in this WCS?

I mean.. come on man,... we got TWO terrans in the ro16... and we had what? two in the start ro32 too ? lol.

BUFF TERRAN PL0x

Have to watch GSL to get your weekly dosage of Terran. GO Bogus!

Hopefully Dustin isnt screwing us around with upcoming Thor and HSM changes to help the foreigner Terrans.

Aslong as we agree that Zerg is the strongest race, and terran the weakest

Looking at that chart toss is the weakest. I do not think there is that much of a difference between the races anyway
