Ugh... this is just frustrating. I am not saying Stephano threw the games, but it frustrates me to see people who say that they KNOW he did, and also people acting like it isn't a possibility whatsoever. Stephano HAS TRIED TO THROW GAMES IN THE PAST!!! Why can't everyone just accept the fact that he may have, and also accept the fact that they don't know if he actually did it. It would be so much more sensible.......... Actually, the sensible thing to do is to assume both players played their best. Then Stephano sure has gotten a lot worse lately His ZvZ was never as good as his ZvP or ZvT. I've never seen him play ZvZ this poorly, in game 2 he just threw away infestor energy and units on nothing, several times he split his army in two, attacking with only half of his units I have. I've also seen him play terribly in his other matchups. Players make mistakes, it happens to the best of them. Before today I've never seen Rain played PvP completely mediocre, but it happens. To suggest Stephano is throwing games is absurd. Hardly absurd, Stephano has a lot to gain from throwing the game, not only will he not have to face Rain who is a beast in PvZ his teammate also gets through to the next round. He will have to play Hero again but wouldn't he rather play Hero then BBK rather than Rain? And Idra's PvZ is absolutely horrid. Idra would have more to gain by throwing this series, yet he won on absolutely back-to-back crushing performances over RoRo and Stephano. Also, you're downplaying Stephano's amazing PvZ. We just saw how vulnerable Rain is in his supposedly godly PvP. Stephano can give him a run for his money if they were to play. Again, no player would risk throwing games and then NOT even making it out of the group. Anything can happen. It's too risky to even try. Why do so many people in this thread say so many things with such confidence when you just don't know. Sometimes playing two weaker players is easier than playing one stronger player... Once again, I don't think Stephano threw the games, but it is a bit frustrating to see people say "Yeah there is just no chance. I know 100% based entirely off of my speculation." Sorry...
Because this is the internet?

Nothing is a sure thing. This right here. If it was a situation where he had already advanced, and it was just seeding on the line (aka korean badminton players @ olympics) then maybe I could understand bringing out the conspiracy theories. But to suggest it with the current situation is ludicrous. Except... it's not always the case. If (for example) Stephano had to play Rain if he won, but he played Levin, and then Insur if he lost... it would be easier for him.
Can you stop? keep this an LR and enough with "possibilities" and conspiracies.

;o And that blizzard nerfed the ghost because of these games despite Mvp being just far far far (or almost any other korean terran) better than NesTea. Good old times :D.
I will never forget Nestea chasing dropships with like 80 supply worth of banelings, he still does that and it makes me sad.
MVP's job is to get terran nerfed or prevent buffs whenever possible. I think he gets a secret thrill out of QQing and then winning anyways ^-^

Your argument makes no sense, that would be very obvious and fuel the paranoias of conspiracy theorists. Yeah, and it would lead to him potentially getting caught if he made it obvious. It's not difficult to simply play worse later in the game... DISCLAIMER: I am once again not saying that I think Stephano threw it, but people are using such flawed logic to make it seem like it somehow isn't a possibility. I think there's a possibility that you're retarded. I'm not saying you are, but it's still possible. What a needless personal attack. I'm just being sensible and logical. I'm sorry if it is crushing your dream world where everyone plays for honor and not for money. I'm just using your own flawed way of arguing. No... if you were doing that, you would make a statement that would point out the logical flaw in my statement, rather than insulting me in a "witty" way. Ok, I'll spell it out for you since you don't get it. Anything is possible. It is possible that every game this event has been staged and no one has actually tried their best. It is also possible there's no money in this tournament and the players are aware of it, hence not trying their best. Arguing something just because it's possible is absolutely retarded unless you have something actually pointing towards it other than it being... possible. "Arguing something just because it's possible is absolutely retarded unless you have something actually pointing towards it other than it being... possible." K. Stephano has tried to throw games in the past. It is very reasonable that he believes beating HerO and then BabyK is easier than Rain. There is $100k on the line, and Stephano plays SC2 for the money. If he simply plays a normal game, but plays worse, he can't get caught. Well, I guess we agree then. It is a reasonable possibility because there is "something actually pointing towards it other than it being... possible." yah if you think he's gonna risk having to play one of the best korean protosses again to even get into the next stage, then whatever not even mentioning the games, which you obviously are clueless about
"not even mentioning the games, which you obviously are clueless about"
No I'm not clueless about them. I think Stephano tried to win, and he simply lost to an IdrA who was playing better today.
"yah if you think he's gonna risk having to play one of the best korean protosses again to even get into the next stage, then whatever"
There has been constant talk about how HerO has become weak in PvZ, and Stephano has been doing very well against him recently.

What a bizarre attack from grubby

That was kind of horrible, playing standard and still finds out about the all-in 30 seconds before it hits he's more than fine.
Either Grubby played really horribly, and the execution was shit or Sen did that defense as perfect as he could.
