Stephano has tried to throw games in the past. It is very reasonable that he believes beating HerO and then BabyK is easier than Rain. There is $100k on the line, and Stephano plays SC2 for the money. If he simply plays a normal game, but plays worse, he can't get caught.

On Cloud Kingdom, the players went for yet another round of quick expands, but this time MG had the much faster gas. While MG went for speed and baneligns, Nerchio headed for roaches. A quick attack hitting before Nerchios production of roaches kicked in managed to kill both queens and resulted in a small worker-lead. Nerchio went with double-evo and a pressure from roaches forced MG to play defensively behind spines. At the same time, MG had taken a quick lair and spire, but as he attacked and cancelled the third of nerchio, a big group of upgraded roaches wreaked havoc on the natural and main of MG, killing the natural hatch in the process. After several tries Nerchio also managed to snipe the third of MG, putting him in a dominating position. While teching to hydras and building a fourth, Nerchio prepared a big attack on the third of MG, breaking through the defensive line of MG in a mile-long arch. After a long farewell, MG had to gg and accept defeat.

Nerchio with yet another hectic, but also convincing victory, 2:0

Also, you're downplaying Stephano's amazing PvZ. We just saw how vulnerable Rain is in his supposedly godly PvP. Stephano can give him a run for his money if they were to play. Again, no player would risk throwing games and then NOT even making it out of the group. Anything can happen. It's too risky to even try.

Why do so many people in this thread say so many things with such confidence when you just don't know. Sometimes playing two weaker players is easier than playing one stronger player...

Once again, I don't think Stephano threw the games, but it is a bit frustrating to see people say "Yeah there is just no chance. I know 100% based entirely off of my speculation." Sorry...
