Went to bed as Nani 1-0 Flash in the first series, damn shame he didn't manage to beat him in the extended series

And now he's up against soO/Rain......-_________________________-

Actually it makes a lot of sense.

first of all, flash barely won
secondly, noone plays 24hr/day lol
flash has also been playing a similar game for many years before this
he's being paid hundreds of thousands per year to play, whereas naniwa isn't paid at all by his sponsor.

*shrug ;p

I don't think you took that 24/7 literally

Even when not taking it litteraly, this post makes little to no-sense.
According to this logic, none should ever have to catch up to Boxer and Garimto skills in BW.

According to that logic (disregarding words like "raped/sick") Flash managed to be at the same level as Naniwa is or a little above in only 6 months.
You got to give Flash some credits. To be honest I wasn't expecting Kespa players to bounce back after switching to sc2 so quickly.

Hope now it makes sense.

Considering that Flash already had the mechanics and Kespa players only had to catch up to the current meta game where a lot of things had already be 'figured' out. 6 months playing that much every day is a pretty decent amount of time. I think most eSF pros said it would take about 6 months for Kespa to catch up (maybe slightly longer since Kespa still had hybrid league). So I don't really think it is all that a huge shock that the top Kespa pros are already on par with eSF players. Obviously, it is still impressive to see.

Like someone said, it would be like saying Flash 'caught up' to Boxer when Boxer had been playing Broodwar since Flash was like 6-7 years old. The skill/time ratio is not linear and it begins to plateau.

So Naniwa faced Flash twice already and might go up against Rain next. Good luck with that. Can I watch the extended series anywhere?

Yeah exactly, it's really massively overstated, although their play level is impressive.

1. Kespa pros have all the replays and VoDs they could want to use in their efforts to figure the game out.
2. The game has been figured out to its current level by ESF pros and is immeasurably different from when they started playing.

The first god knows how long consisted of 4 gate being viable in all matchups, hatch first builds were much riskier than they are now, the 1/1/1 has come and gone, etc etc etc

Live events are about audience as well. It is the reason why we have sports tournaments all over the world even though some region/countries might dominate it.

Quite possibly I don't think people dispute just how good the Kespa pros are at RTS games, that said for every Flash or Rain there's a Bisu or Jaedong who haven't looked so hot thus far. It'll be interesting to see how things progress

No. What it is saying is that eventhough Naniwa has been playing for 2 plus years, it doesn't take 2 years to 'catch up' since Kespa players already had the mechanical skill. Of course, if Kespa pros had switched when the game was 6 months old, they would have caught up, faster. You have examples like Mvp, etc.

Let say Kespa pro had to play in a 'vacuum', where they had no access to VoDs or other resources and only played amongst themselves. Then it would take a lot longer to 'catch up'. Although it still would be less than 2 years since their mechanical skill were already superior.

Naniwa was one of the top WC3 players of all time.

And he puts in so much fucking effort right now into SC2, and its that what determines who should win and who should lose, and both of them put in that effort.

Don't fucking discredit Naniwa, he does more than you'll ever know.

lols he already got atked multiple times for that statement and apologized for his wrong info. With how fast with LR threads move, if you say one really dumb thing you will get 10 people quoting you all thinking they are the first to do so.
