Man watching those older OSL montages, the atmosphere was so electric. I didn't feel any of that today even tho the games were good.
Getting too old for this..

1st SC2 OSL Champion and Royal Roader: SKT T1 Rain. Grats.

I dont really get this.. wouldn't then anyone who won the first sc2 osl be a royal roader..? just sayin its the first sc2 osl..

uh, I'm trying to find it, but I don't remember Rain ever being in an OSL before... hence royal road.

Finals were meh, stream quality sucked hard but I guess the TV version was good.

Btw, if SaSe read this : Now you know, zerg aint imba, you are just terrible at PvZ so stop the god damn whine.

That's why the montage was a challenge for the Esports fans to rise up.

Too bad they already went to watch CLG.EU vs Azubu Frost.

Go back under your rocks, elephant lovers.

Yet hes in Code S?

to be honest, a fair amount of people who aren't code S level are in Code S, if that makes sense. sounds stupid, but what most mean is 'consistent code s' level - like curious, hero, etc

Well itd be smart to save judgement as Roro and the other KeSPA players just went into code S. The fact is that alot of them (from my expectations anyway) got all the way into Code S from all the way down from the prelims beating alot of "proved" players along with no names that are the downfall of many good players sadly.

Ive yet to see the real S class players from SC2 that are just purely dominating. The only one that comes close is maybe IM-MVP?

well, taking a look at this code S, let's see the elephants who qualified into it:
rain: deserves his spot for sure
bbyong: took out first, genius and heart. some good opponents there, but he didn't look particularly special when doing it. someone like hack or keen could have done the same
sHy: beat jjakji and seed, which is no easy feat. i think he's the dark horse of this season, keep an eye out for a ro8 or so
bogus: beat yugioh, bomber and happy, which are decent players, but as again, someone like hack or alive could have done the same
roro: deserved spot, took out some solid players

so pretty much shy, rain and roro are the ones who 'feel' right in code S, while bbyong and bogus seem like they're the type who spend a bit of time in between S and A like happy, bomber, etc.

I like to think the ones who are deserving of Code S are the ones that make it to the Round of 8, thus securing their spot for next season.

Can't wait for Season 5!

Props to Moletrap for the energy throughout a mostly boring finals. The last couple of minutes of the last match was pretty entertaining and warranted the hype, however. The emotional response from DRG was the cherry on top. Solid OSL.

he gets muted 2 seconds into hearing him on a stream for me.

Too bad for you because he did very well today, it reminded me of the BW VODs where he was good.

DRG is 3-8 against KeSPA players.

You can't beat superior mechanics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good games, was fun although the stream tried to ruin it horribly. Glad to see Rain getting a deserved championship win. :D

The sad thing for me is that foreigners like us would even pay to get to watch an OSL final live given the opportunity...

DRG is also 1-4 againt creator, such a small sample doesn't really say much, considering that 5 of those losses are to rain as well, who is pretty damn good regardless of kespa or esf or whatever haha

Did anyone enjoy this finals? If so, could you share with me why? I want to talk more about it but all I can think of are negative things which I've blabbed on too much about already.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

I liked the part where the guy I wanted to win ended up winning unlike the GSL finals.
