Yeah, true that, MC would still be significantly ahead even without the OSL 3rd place monies that he's just earned today. Hehe ^^

just looking at the results, if it was a bo3 Life would've won 2-0, if it was a bo5, MVP would've won 3-2, but it was a bo7 so Life won 4-3. maybe in a bo9 MVP wins, maybe not.
not at all trying to take away from Life's victory, just an observation. of course you could argue that they would've played differently if they were told it was a different match size.
Well, if bl+infestor life win else mvp win end
more simple, isnt it?

Squirtle/Mvp, Leenock/jjakji, MMA/DRG in whatever order 4. Life/Mvp 5. Nestea/MKP Not really a lot of choices for #4 best finals man, easy call
Squirtle/MVP #1 for sure
imho

Urm btw guys off topic but where should we discuss DH Bucharest there's no thread....

You know when a player win GSL Code S as a first Royal Roader. He is successful as a 15 year old. Slaying the the terran people who were claiming is a bonjwa MVP.
He is on to great things.

Finals are at IPL, that's why this season in particular is starting quickly.

I am just stating obvious.lol I'm still of the opinion that Stephano is the better Zerg, but he needs to stop fucking around and play in GSL already.
Stephano does very poorly vs people who have prepared extensively for him and does well in ladder-style tournaments like MLG. In the GSL you will have an entire team of people dedicated to figuring out how to abuse your style (which stephano is rooted in 100%, he is a stylist player) and how to counter it most effectively. Honestly I would not expect stephano to do well at all in the GSL, he`s simply not the kind of player who will excel in those circumstances.
That being said, if all zergs would plan out their attacks like stephano does then i doubt we`d ever see a less than 90% zerg win rate in tournaments.

I think Mvp goes to the top in terms of GSL winnings though

How is Life better because he won one tournament, while Stephano has been consistently producing results for a year? The GSL bias is kinda ridiculous sometimes.

But this was an absolute disgrace. If this game is so freaking broken, with blizzard doing nothing but useless patches and disgusting units there's no reason whatsover for me to play this game when it's obvious it doesn't matter how good a player is, if they're not the right race, they're guaranteed not to win. This finals was so supposed to be the resurgence of sc2 as a sport. This just killed it. A 'patchzerg' took out the best play in sc2 history with nothing but overpowered units and macro cheese.
Good riddance. It was fun while it lasted.
User was temp banned for this post. At least you are honest and have the guts to say this, well done on that.
So you should not only be an idiot, you should be proud of it as well? x)
MVP obviously took a big risk when he walked out with 5 Thors solo, he knew Life had zerglings on the map. Life sees them and get 5 thors for free. GG

I love infestors, they're my favorite unit in the game. The amount of micro they involve and the micro they promote make all games involving the massing of them so interesting, I'm glad life was able to put them to use so effectively in the final.

Will enjoy reading the recap and analysis, hopefully they can get into the "mindgames" aspect Everyone said Mvp's big advantage was set preparation and ability to use many different builds and styles, but all we saw today was mech, granted with significant differences in opener Clearly he did this for a reason, and Life responded (eventually)

Because he has the worst builds =P
Who do you think had the better prepared builds for this series? Serious question.

It was amazing, for those who really sat through the entire season this was probably top 3 GSL finals ever AND combined with the story lines of the whole season this finals was even more amazing! Truly worth the watch. Also the montage at the end was sooo sick!

Well to be fair, MVP made his own new builds that completely countered (blue flame double rax) and used deceptive appearing builds (mass hellion into cloak banshee) to combat's Life's style. What amazes me is that in all 7 games, Life's playstyle was COMPLETELY countered and he still won. I do have to wonder, other than 100% countering a player's style that he never deviates from, stopping his cheese every time he does it, and not making the smallest of overextensions, what else could Mvp have done better in this series? Make vikings when he saw the spire late? Doesn't really work, Zerg can mass Corrupter/Brood Lord WAAYYYYY faster than Terran can possibly get up 2 Starports and get Vikings out. I'd also like to note that in the games where Mvp continued tank production while Brood Lords were being made, Ultralisks were the unit being produced after the initial push every single time. He's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. I want to know what Blizzard believes is the correct way, as a Terran, to play against a Zerg who tech switches at will, after having your build completely countered from start to finish.
They were not necessarily new builds, but Mvp showcased really cool transitions that changed them from all-innish builds into solid macro ones.
A BFH opening doesn't counter zergling openings. Life slowly downloaded Mvp's hellion movement patterns after Game 4. On Ohana Mvp couldn't do a thing and constantly lost them.

as a terran my heart says whine, but my head says nein.

So basically, he wasn't able to scout properly and prepare the necessary units in time, but should still be able to defend?
