Sucks that there was no Japan tournament, I think kurOa is better than a lot of these players.

i havent even heard of kuroa

How much do you know about AK? TooDming? SKTB?

It would be more interesting to have the #1 Japanese player in the Asia finals than the #10 Chinese player or #9 Taiwanese player.

toodming is so much more famous than kuroa, AK i have heard off sktb not

So is it or isn't it more interesting to have more countries represented?

kurOA was WCG rep in 2010, and is borderline GM in NA server (has been GM at least once iirc).

Haven't really followed anything about Starcraft 2 in Japan... how big is it there?

Not that big, but there's a community based in Tokyo.
Here's the biggest site (I think) http://sc-times.net/
There are enough decent players to warrant one spot in Asia, IMO.

It is. But it's not more interesting to have even more cannon fodder. And borderline GM on NA isn't enough to go up against the best in the world!

Borderline GM with cross-world lag is pretty impressive.
He's also top 300 master on Korea server http://sc2ranks.com/tw/821300/kurOa

Are all these Chinese players even Grandmaster on the Chinese server??

... You fucking serious bro? Most of the Chinese players are GM on the Korean/Taiwan server.

Wow, so far so bad, the production quality thus far is embarrassing.

There are 9 Taiwanese players in the Asia championship, and 10 Chinese players.
Are they all GM on Korea/Taiwan server? If not, then I don't think there's a good reason to exclude an entire country for the 10th best Chinese, or 9th best Taiwanese player.

they definitly are, japan has a VERYYYYY small sc2 scene anyway, while china and taiwan have much larger sc2 scenes.

Getting masssive stream lag on all resolutions. That's fairly disappointing, I'm missing the entire (late) start. Oh, and just now it went offline. Lovely. I was looking forward to catching this as the start time was 6PM my time.
