Yeah, I don't mind a hard to get 4th base since it provides more mid-game type battles which can be fun. But the really easy third for Terran in particular is what frustrates me. Zerg gets an easy third too, yes, but when does zerg ever want to be on equal bases with terran?

Yeah just look at those great Korean terrans Stephano beat in the NASL S3 /sarcasm
DRG is slumping but there's still Curious, LIfe, Roro, Leenock, and other zergs who put up results against far better Terrans than the EU zergs (excluding Stephano and Nerchio) do. It's laughable saying EU zergs are better than in the ZvT matchup when there isn't a single great EU Terran (Lucifron has done nothing in a field with Koreans).

The Z advantage was so overrated, distance between naturals meant 2-base P was very strong. But maybe you weren't referring to balance.

after Zerg started to micro their units and discovered the Infestor for TvZ they are now fine with being on even bases.
Being on even bases in TvZ is actually not that bad because Zerg became more and more cost-efficient since the time where they only a-moved ling-baneling-muta and won on superior macro.
