Gamers Abyss and sc2links presents our 2nd showmatch between coL.qxc vs EG.iNcontroLRC in a Bo7 for $100 casted by DOOM!
Introduction: Gamers Abyss is a multi gaming organization looking to go for the TeamLiquid style community but providing an IGN style of content. We only support Starcraft 2 at the moment but we do plan on branching out to other games in the near future. Gamers Abyss run's a community and competitive team for each game they support. The community team is open to all levels of players while the competitive team is solely for players looking to be top level competitors and who represent our brand.
How to join: If you are looking to join our Starcraft community or tryout for our competitive team just head over to our website, sign up and visit our forums. From there you can submit an application to join. You may also join our chat channel "Gamers Abyss" (no quotes) and personally contact any managers/leaders to ask any questions you may have about our team.

if incontrol really prepares for this, he could make it interesting, but qxc could easily 4-0 if incontrol gets unlucky/gimmicky. rooting for ya geoff!

Geoff actually did just get the beta and these two were up against each other in a PvZ yesterday on ladder -- should be interesting how the beta effects them, but these guys are professionals, so they should be well prepared either way.

Decent game one, but qxc was just slightly ahead of him in everything. If geoff had another minute or so, he would've deflected that push.

I'm a huge fan of both, but I think there is a very quantifiable skill gap. GL To both though.

I'm surprised how "normal" these games are, it almost seams like its just 2 random people on the ladder meeting up with the Terran playing being "slightly favored" No gimmick's, cheese or fun builds have been attempted and just a simple gl hf, gg has been said so far.

Incontrol's play just seems to be worse in general, from what I could see in the game on Ohana. He chose to go up to a max of 50 probes on two base, and just did not take his third. To support this, he had upgraded gateway units. I don't know why he would choose to use only upgraded gateway units when all-inning like that -- a better choice if he wanted to all-in would be a simple 6-gate colossus attack, or if he wanted to play a longer game, he should have taken an aggressive third behind his upgraded gateway units.
Meanwhile, qxc was playing normally, with ~60 scvs on two bases (with a macro third orbital), intelligently only took his third base with that orbital when the normal all-in timings passed, and macroed standardly to gain a predictable supply advantage.

That game is a perfect example of why I hate Metropolis btw. These stalemate mapsplit situations are just incredibly boring.
Caster was fine imho but should definitely tone down his hype a bit and imho could try to go a bit more in depth. I really like his enthusiasm

If he lands enough feedbacks, then the VRs don't all instantly die to Yamatos. Then he can toss 1-2 storms out for damage.
Engaging with the mothership first (dies to ghosts), then the VRs (die to yamatos), and finally the 1a'd hts was not so good.

Try just looking through any Team Roster, and click on all the names that barely show up in the tournament scene.
There are a ton of players whose only accomplishments are getting to show up at a major tournament, or winning an iPad at some small time LAN event, yet are still considered members of teams like Dignitas and Quantic.
InControl certainly isn't the best player, but he's far from the worst.

I think incontorl could hav had that last game, he jsut waitied too long for the switch, if he just saced his collasi like 5min earlier and started voidray production He had the money for it and had a huge econ lead. he can just target his collasi with stalkers to not tip of qxc about the switch...duonno y he waitied to trade armies and not get voids faster to protect center bases..... especially after seeing 20 bcs...

I think Incontrol has no interest in improving his skills, as his trademark has become losing all the games , hence all the hate . So if he would play better he would be mediocre and attract no interest from fans neither haters .
It's sad , because I think better players should be involved in those show matches..
But like with everything in the world, it's not about quality it's about marketing and he does that very well.

I'm hoping HOTS brings a better incontrol. He does a lot of good things for EG. And I think he is a good captain. Maybe he takes on too much for EG and can't practice as much? His stream is educational I have learned a lot about protoss from him. I actually kinda would like to see him become more of a team coach. I do agree that EG is a team well supported by marketing, and incontrol does that. But honestly there's no point in hating on him. He plays the game better than me, he is getting married to an awesome woman, and believe or not enough people support him and love him in this community. As long as EG thinks he is valuable they will keep paying him.
