oh ok (no idea) Basically they're screwing around. So it's not a real final? or are they that unserious in LOL? This tournament means virtually nothing, TSM and CLG (The two main NA teams) didn't even go. The teams here are only interested in points for the season 2 finals and since dignitas and curse are already in for it they don't care about the finals. Isn't there money at stake though? They agreed to split the money since they do not want to show strats for season 2 tournament next week. Is this confirmed? This is ultra disrespectful, seriously. Seems so, they're talking about it in the LoL thread, too. Incredible disrespectful and unprofessional, along with splitting prize is supposed to be illegal isn't it? They shouldn't get a dime when they refuse to finish the tournament. Yeah hopefully, sounds like that badminton scandal in olympics. I hope they don't get a dime and fail utterly in the upcoming big tournament. The LOL fans on reddit seem to be mostly okay with it.
This doesn't surprise me.

Sounds very shady, are the organizers really okay with this? Isnt that what got the super smash bros people in trouble? Ye two best players got booted. For a starcraft comparison imagine if jaedong and flash split money and were permabanned from the starleagues and that's what happened. No way will MLG do anything. super smash bros is nothing compared to lol If azubu keeps interest in the foreign scene and TSM + CLG turn up to MLGs they won't mind getting rid of dignitas and curse to serve as an example.

Doesn't surprise me.. LoL is a much more casual game and people don't take it as serious.. which is why I personally don't like it as an e-sport and hope DOTA2 gets more support

Accept the damn prize money for first and just buy your opponent shit with the difference until it's balanced. Money exchanging hands is what gets you caught and in trouble.

day9 explains MLG system, i dont get it lol, dont even get the liquidpedia page, wth is wrong with good old group stages into KO system? The problem was that the winners and losers brackets converged on the finals which meant that the finals were almost always bad because the guy from the winners bracket has to have an advantage. He already had the advantage of playing less rounds so he really didn't need anything else. Not sure why this is so hard to understand for some people. Anyway, this is somewhat overdiscussed lol. But thx for clarification! MLG just to stubborn to get a good system. lol no wonder they get along so well with kespa. lol Just flood the mlg commissioner's twitter if you really want. As for me, it's their problem not mine so I'll be doing nada.
It just looks like they are trying to maximize the chances of extended series... odd decision since people have been complaining about that very thing since SC2 became a part of MLG.

Nice play by hero there. I still think taeja has a better shot at winning the whole thing.

how do the semis and grand finals work? are they single elim? that seems pretty imba for the person coming from winners.
Probably answered but yes they are single elim, and yes it sucks for the person in WB

Semis work like the old MLG Championship Finals. (If it's a rematch, then it's a Bo7 extended series. If not, then it starts as a Bo3, and the LB player must win that and an ensuing Bo7 extended series to advance (see First vs. Daisy in Group D finals last night for an example).)
The finals will be a straight Bo7 with no advantage, as the championship bracket is considered to consist of two distinct double-elimination mini-brackets that feed into the final (as in the Summer Arena bracket), and match history from previous phases of the tournament (groups, open bracket) does not count anymore.

He lost 6 Broodlords on move command , that's how it happened LOL, the game was long over at that point. No... no it wasn't
Oh yeah. Revival's entire army is on the other side of the map. Meanwhile Taeja's much more mobile army has already killed 3 of his bases and taken out his entire production, while he's supposed to take out buildings that can float, are much more numerous and with higher HP, all the while holding back the Terran army that's coming back, and can fight in chokes.
They started a base trade, and Revival's army wasn't even able to kill off a fraction of Taeja's main, before Taeja took out everything Revival had and came back to defend. After that, if he hadn't given a away the Broodlords, you think the outcome would be different?
The only thing that comes to mind is a big LOL!
Revival didn't even have a spire anymore and Taeja was still producing Vikings. Taeja had a huge army positioned nicely in the chokes created by his own buildings. He was still mining on his 3rd, 4th and 5th. But yeah, I'm sure those 5 Broodlords would have changed all of that if he hadn't given them away...
