Individual tournaments, certainly. He has participated in some ESV Korean Weeklies since then and he might have played some FXOpen Invitationals or something but other than that, there's only IPL Team Arena Challenge stuff.

Everyone who didn't play yesterday. So it's NeOAnGeL - ThorZaIN (if he doesn't get replaced), Polt - SortOf, Genius - Bly and possibly Sage vs SuperNoVa if SN didn't get forfeited (I have no idea, I couldn't watch yesterday). Plus the two matches in the next round, obviously.

KK thx nice matches Polt fighting :D
Any word on english or perhaps german speaking streams? I know khaldor is castin ZOTAC but perhaps he will cast MSI as well?
it's been a long time i haven't seen a ZvT from Stephano and he changed a bit his style Also it shows that he trained his creep spread well in korea on the Ohana Map.

Yeah, he's so aggressive with his glings. He beats Polt only with glings on Ohana ^^.
I love the French cast, "Oh la la oh lalalaLALALALALA", so extremely French <3
Reminds me of the Spanish stream during WCS Mexico, I could understand most of it with some basic Spanish since most if it is numbers, common words and English game terms, same thing here Nice game from SuperNoVa just now!

It's nice to log into the French chat and see that in all cultures, in all languages, people can unite in bitching about races being OP. There is hope for the world yet!
Very well played by Stephano, but who is surprised?
On August 31 2012 04:11 DOUDOU wrote: the dailymotion player really is terrible
how much is dailymotion paying millenium to use this? i'll pay millenium to switch to twitch
They use daily and not twitch because most daily's ads are french and viewers are also mostly french, whereas Twitch has very few french ads, then the revenue from ads is way better for them with daily than with twitch.
On August 31 2012 04:11 DOUDOU wrote: the dailymotion player really is terrible

I think it is all about ads localization. You know how often on twitch when a streamer launches commercials, we don't get any ? Dailymotion is a French company, and most of the viewers are French, so they probably get a much better return on advertisements with them I guess.
On a personal note, I have no problems with Dailymotion, while Twitch has recently started to have sound bugs for me (having sound go on randomly while muted).

He has won it three times so far Maybe the symbolic part is the fact that the last tournament he wins under Millennium will be Millennium's tournament. If he wins, that is.
Genius is a top Korean Protoss but he got dismantled there by Stephano. The Frenchman completely dominated that series and did not look in trouble at any point.

MVP showing that you can just keep building them in this build seems to have sealed it as suuuper powerful, they're good vs every tech choice bar super fast mutas, but they scout it before it becomes a threat anyway.
On August 31 2012 04:56 MCDayC wrote: mech is pretty much becoming standard vZ now, its crazy.
Say that to TaeJa, MKP and Polt :p Still, it's good seeing more Mech play being a standard in TvZ, because the more Banshee focused Mech into Sky Terran seems to dominate almost all Zergs. Mvp and SuperNoVa are really showing the true power of Mech used well with good compositions.
On August 31 2012 05:01 Lasbike wrote: Constant production of banshee throughout the game seems more and more popular. I wonder why we are seeing that just now, it seems so powerfull
According to lastshadow, the Banshee-focused Mech was popular on the Korean ladder for quite a while, but just recently has it been shown in tournament play.
So this is the apparent solution to Banshee heavy Mech? Heavy Ultralisk production? Not sure whether it really is, because SuperNoVa lagged in Banshee production and did not upgrade Air Weapons, which would have helped greatly with DPS.
On August 31 2012 05:07 Anta wrote: why are the stats saying 1-0 supernova?
Cause SuperNova won the...*drum rolls* first game !
Now it's 1-1
Anyway, Supernova had way too much helion. And 2-2 helions on 5-3 Ultralisks is pretty much 0 dps. He also stacked all his tanks during the major fight, which was not really good. Good showing by Stephano though. Props for not leaving the game and coming back from hell.

upgrading air weapons could just raise the gas cost to even more astronomical levels for this build, but I guess would heIp vs a brood lord transition, so it could actually be good. I think Supernova played very nicely, but he made a couple of key mistakes, pushing before 3-3 with no greater spire in sight, I don't quite know he did that, it was always doomed to fail against that kind of composition, and he position was pretty bad, tanks need to spread out far more in the engagement where he lost everything against the zergs 4th. That (and it pains me to say this) but vs that many ultras I think you need more thors than he had than tanks in that situation.
some classic gsl music for people listening on mute

you do not upgrade air units when you are going mech, you upgrade mech........................................ After mech is upgraded then u worry about air stuff.
stephano is always best when both situations get really sloppy.

Doing 4 drops at a time for 10 minutes is a great achievement from Supernova. Dealing with 4 drops at a time for 10 minutes without dying is certainly a bigger one : o
I agree with TLO that "abuse" is a crappy word that just leads to unproductive balance whining, I'd rather say that he used the map to his advantage wherever he could, which I expect from a progamer. A bad map meets smart play.
On the other hand, Stephano just gives me chills. The way he handled everything SuperNoVa threw at him that game was just beautiful. I really wish he would get over to Korea and play some GSL!

I just wish he'd improve his ZvZ before playing in GSL, those ZvZ games of him in MLG were awful...
Can't really criticize SuperNoVa's decision to 2 Rax, I mean, it did win him the game, but he does seem really afraid of Stephano in long-term macro games.
SuperNova in a TvZ, in a mappool consisting of TalDarim, Shakuras Plateau and Antiga, feels the need to double proxy rax, twice. Well, good for him, if it works

They were indeed, and he's admitted as much. I hope he can concentrate on the matchup, especially if he goes back to practice with the TSL guys, they have some sick ZvZers.
Stephano is so one dimentional. I have not seen 2 rax agains zerg in the GSL in a year because everyone already know how to defend it. Stephano still fails against this old build. sad

One major aspect of defending 2 Rax is scouting it, which Stephano failed. Even if he pulled his Drones earlier, he still would have probably lost because his Pool was so late.
Stephano derps and creates another Infestation Pit.
@MCDayC, I think it's because SuperNoVa did not split the Hellions to cover the entire Mineral line intially, and kept about half not attacking. If he kept them spread, he would have roasted the entire Mineral line. Plus, Stephano split pretty well.
Couldn't supernova just have killed stephano before the brood popped out? As long as he wasn't undsieged or in a dumb position that army would have destroyed.

Probably, SuperNoVa doubled Stephano in army before the Broods.
Stephano leaving Millenium with style in an epic series.
I think SuperNoVa could have won if he had decided to throw away more SCVs before the major engagements for larger army supply. His bank could have afforded a larger army, and he could have crushed Stephano's army in that first major engagement at the 6 o'clock.
GGs, tense games, great series and a great cup overall! Thanks again, Millenium, keep doing those, I'll keep watching, no matter what language they're broadcasted in.
On August 31 2012 06:12 lannisport wrote: Why didn't supernova get a few ravens with his army? Late game mech with raven is so strong.
Not sure, I didn't follow everything in detail but it felt like Supernova caught Stephano's tech switch too late, expecting more ultras like on Ohana. The double spire and saving food for sudden mass corruptor of Stephano was really smart. It's hard to surprise a player with broods, but I felt he did a good job.

Yeah I also didnt really care. As long as the obsing is good, which it was, I am fine.
Besides, was interesting to see how much French I still understand.
And yes, to not get caught in details, that was an AWESOME final series. Three games out of five were freaking jewels of Starcraft. The last one with the tense slow positioning and starving out each other almost felt like a TvT. But even more awesome.

This is true. Supernova kept rebuilding his lost banshees afterall. At one point he built 3 extra starports cause he saw the corrupters with his hellions. But he didn't build an extra raven or two, maybe at that point he didn't have enough gas. I still don't have much experience vs lategame mech with ravens so I'm unsure how terrans usually transition to it from the midgame. It must be a lot smoother if you suspect BLs from the outset.

I don't play terran, but from my experience watching raven transitions, it's not only the gas but the time it takes for ravens to reach a critical mass, both in number and energy. The successful raven transitions I've seen have been planned out in advance, taking several minutes before becoming useful. Not something you can do against a sudden tech switch. But I'm no pro and I'm only guessing, someone tell me if I'm wrong
That was a cool series, no? A great TvZ game on Daybreak to finish it off well. That big rolling battle at the southern base was really gripping, with Stephano having to be very patient and getting the right balance of corruptors and infestors. Supernova was really fortified behind all those PFs and turrets but he just ran out of minerals due to the war of attrition.
Congrats to Stephano for closing out his time at Millenium by winning this trophy! Stephano looking strong against Terran. He has not lost to a Terran in a LAN since MMA beat him in IPL4 almost 5 months ago. And Stephano has been to 8 LANs since then!

To be fair to Supernova, he has played in quite a few of these MSI Pro Cups with a lot of success. So he knows how to prepare himself for them well. He probably would have beaten Thorzain too!

September : European qualifier October : American qualifier November : Asian qualifier December : Final tournament with 8 players and 5.000 € for the winner
I summarize what Llewellys said, the format of the qualifiers and the tournament has not been revealed yet but overall, it will be like that.
