As much as I want the system to be fair for the players, its not practical to have to dedicate half your day to the show. The GSL shows sometimes takes up to 4 hours and i promise myself to just watch a few games but always end up watching the whole thing, while irl responsibilities suffer.
Most impressive performance today was Fantasys play imo. The players have at least a week between games. With a week to prep for a single player on a single map, Bo1 isn't an issue. If you fuck up, it's your fault. It also creates more tension, because every single game matters. And, going from 4 games a day to 8-12 wouldn't really be viable when you broadcast on tv. Well in bw it could have happened that multiple tvts come up. That can end in 4 hours broadcast as well even in a bo1. In sc2 that won't happen making bo3 really the best choice, otherwise you can end up with a 30 minute show and have to fill in to much. But they will find out ^^.
Nope. Remember, on each day only one game from each group is played. OGN has been doing this for over a decade, they'd never put four of the same matchup on the same day.
Also, they have lots of experience running extra commercials or drawing stuff out a bit if things are running a bit short.

Are there vods somewhere?

lol, ogn is terrible. You have the best players in the world, incredibly exciting matchups, and you show a grand total of 4 maps in a day? way to inspire your foreign fanbase to wake up early and watch. I bet the same guy who decided on 4 maps a day hired moletrap.

Has anyone got a list of all the groups again? I remember the majority but I've forgotten a few.

Will the games be posted on esportstv YouTube channel?

You should probably do some research. RO16 is made up of four different four player groups. Each group has a round robin format (each player plays 1 game against each other player, 3 total games for each player) and the two with the best records move on. Ties are settled by head to head record first then by tie-breaker rounds.

This may be a shock, but you and every other foreign viewer is not OGNs primary audience. They operate on this kind of schedule because their Korean audience doesn't want to actually dedicate an entire day to viewing SC2. Truly shocking, huh.

Most of the time I watch parts of the GSL broadcast because frankly, I don't have time to watch the whole thing. Plus it's a television broadcast, it makes sense to keep it short.

expected in a terrible BO1 format If your good enough to win the first game - you win, if you're not - you lose. Simple as that.

just like it did for GSL
oh wait Starcraft 2 isn't Brood War and it isn't at a 9 year old meta game for BO1s to be considered even remotely decent

yes because it should be impossible for these players to win, right?
nestea got outplayed so bad that the entire game only one of the 5(6?) barracks had an addon.
Flash outmacro'd San.

I can't believe people are actually complaining about BO1's. Are there seriously so many of you out here who can devote 3-4-5 hours EVERY DAY to watch Starcraft?

This kind of illustrates the difference between the old school and the new school. The old school watched the games, no matter how troublesome, because they loved the game. Now we have people like this.

Ding ding ding. OGN is an actual network that broadcasts shows on TV.
