Why would anyone listen to a language they have no understanding of? + Show Spoiler +I prefer Korean commentary for Brood War and am not the biggest fan of Moletrap, but some people prefer to actually listen to something they can understand. Yeah, English commentary walks a fine line between "being understandable" and "being bad." (Except Sayle! :D And maybe ooooophidian; I haven't heard you though... :/) Sad but true, many English casters have no idea what they're saying. It was irritating as hell to listen to MLG casters this weekend. I'm only gold level and it's sad that I know more than some of these "professional" casters. Doa and Moletrap are decent at play-by-play, but neither of them are any good at analytical casting. I was watching DRG play MMA at IPL LA (doa & cats pajamas), and I could spot the difference between a 3 hatch or a roach bane rush a whole 3 minutes before the casters have a clue. Thinking about this keeps me up at night sometimes. if you are in gold theres no way in hell you know more than professional casters, maybe you know marauder counters stalker and zergling is not good against zealot but they actually know what they are talking about i hope you dont take it too offensive but a lot of people in your level of the game think they know a lot and thats not... really... the truth...
That's why I said it was sad that I do! And you're wrong, not all casters are knowlegeable about the game, a great many of them lack basic understanding of it. And yes you are correct, I don't know anything about matchups that are not Zerg related. But with Zerg, since I'm DRG's little stalker, I do know all his builds and timings. Plus I quit all my zvzs, so rank means nothing :/

The only reason I would hate on a BO1 format is MAPS. The mapping scene in SC2 is way underdeveloped (mostly due to blizzard and tournaments refusal to use custom maps) and as a result we still have a lot of maps that really favor one race. Entombed Valley and Antiga Shipyard are both guilty of this. if things goes well and there is a second os2l, korean map making teams should do great stuff
man proleague gonna develop the mapping scene I bet.

Fantasy and Flash gone through as i expected. No upsets really.
DRG and Parting advancing as expected. T.T for Jangbang getting a tough draw who is DRG.Fan of both but at least Jangbi got 2 consecutive BW OSLs.
Dishwashertoss showing how it's done against Baby.

Are Korean VODs available I missed the first half?
|
I'm amazed that NesTea lost to be honest but then again isn't ZvT his worst matchup historically?

A bit of both.Nestea failing again with the drop defense mostly.

If ratings turn out ok, I can imagine this beeing sort of a new life for korean pro gaming shows on tv. If this happens and if the first ever os2l winner isn't one of the already high salary kespa pros, I can't begin to imagine what kind of contract he'll get from skt / kt

go to OGN's website in an hour.
I'll try to find them in places where they shouldn't be found, of course I won't share these places.

now all we have to hope is for OGN to developp their online platform crazy and possibly make it foreign friendly >.> (lets not hope for too much tho)

Sorry but no. Kespa and ESF can't transfer players between each other until October 2013. Even if the first SC2 OSL winner is someone from the non-Kespa group,Kespa can't give them a contract till then. Read this thread. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=359009 http://esfiworld.com/news/kespa-esports-fed-agree-trade-lock-until-oct-2013
By October 2013, i expected the playing field to be even with Kespa having a bit more players at the very very top.

Jangbi didn't get a tough draw. He picked DRG himself. Guess he thought DRG was slumping hard or maybe he was really confident vs Z.

i know about that but Koreans have a tendency to bend rules whenever they feel the need for it

I see no resemblance between Parting and a dishwasher...

more like he watched p's in wcs stomping zergs right and left and thought it'd be fine with a strong 2 weeks total practice in sc2

Never watched the OSL Ro16 Group Selection?XD He has earned his nickname there.
July always asking Parting to wash dishes everytime. Hence, " Dishwashertoss "

why would you sign say mvp to a big deal when his ability level is already known and in time he won't be at the top any more? look at the first few gsls, would you sign those winners to big deals?

because it's on TV and TV hype gets you to do insane tv adds
I remember back then boxer scoring a 50k deal with IBM for an add (took a 4 hours shooting). And that was like 2001-2
