Because who fucking 10 pools on daybreak? :p Effort, that's who.

hahaha yeh but honestly, what do you gain from not walling in? a handful of seconds of travel time mining ???? :\

Against a player of EffOrt caliber you go greedy openings

Terran walls ->
Zerg doesn't go aggressive early on ->
Terran cut corner and don't wall ->
Zerg go aggressive like this ->
repeat

Mind game.

Okay people. All this "Elephant" talk is just plain stupid. It's pretty simple that the KESPA player would do well early.

Their opponents have a ton of games they can research which the opponents do not have the same luxury.

Lets give this a month or so and then you can put up the elephant in the room jokes. Remember when foreigners were beating Koreans in SC2 about a year ago? Yeah, now look at it. Swung back the other way.

That strategy won't work with mediocre micro in the second game.

Was very impressive how Effort kept Gumiho at bay with fewer units. Gumiho seemed a lot worse than usual tho. Starting to wonder if the kespa guys win by superior mechanics more than the gom guys losing by mistakes.

I do think people are overstating the mistakes of the GSL players to some degree (I admit some of the mistakes are pretty bad) as when we watch these match ups, I think the players go under a bit more scrutiny than if they were just playing their GSL peers. Kespa has caught up to the standard level of the GOM pros now. Champion level? Probably not, but maybe soon. These guys were disappointing just a month ago, and now they are just total ballers. Kind of nuts.

Are you surprised?

You know, TvZ looks more and more like Brood War TvZ every day when I see games like that.

Brood war tvz was a series of early pools? My memories of tvz are slightly different.

I can't tell you how many TvZs ive seen end with the Terran dying because he went for a greedy FE build and the Zerg went for an early build.

You hardly ever saw that in SC2 up until recently, it was a dynamic that's only now become prominent in the metagame. Terrans gotta watch out for that shit, don't just assume every Zerg is gonna 15 hatch you.

you HAVE to be good to be able to try that in a top tier korean tournament.

I could try that in a top tier tournament.. -_-

If you were in a tournament pros would play hyper conservative against you and crush your cheese, so no, you couldn't pull it off.

That would not work against a player GuMiHo felt he was easily better than.
Did you ever say Yes to a single joy?

8-0 in BoX games for Kespa players.

Hmm.

Bias much, they are in the loser bracket which means they lost.

I meant they are on an 8-0 streak, my bad, edited.

Everyone relax, all I care about is seeing good games.

No wall, no pie. Gumiho's own fault, and i dont think Effort planned any all in until he scouted. More likely this was vs 2rax.
