The engagements he also had were great for him, but still traded evenly. You seem to forget that SC2 is pretty huge on the compound damage and DPS field. If you have 6 collossus vs 5 collossus for example the 6 will win with more than one left. +1 armor would have helped when Protoss hadn't quite yet finished +2 attack. At that point in the mid game 2-2 finished for terran when 3 armor was on the way and a 2nd forge was being rebuilt. I am not saying Ryung would win but it would have made the mid game for him much stronger. If he had shut down the attacks from Protoss at his 4th and hadn't lost all those scvs his macro wouldn't have slowed as much. His army was bigger but his econ was worse. So he traded his army for army while falling behind in economy. This lead to Alicia slowly gaining speed in the long term. At the end of the game Alicia was 50 food ahead and only because Ryung didn't have the economy to continue keeping an army lead. Its not like Ryung would have insta won but to say upgrades mean nothing or to say that Ryung played perfectly is way off base. He made mistakes and they meant alicia could take some advantage slowly and he traded evenly enough that warp ins could keep him defended. There comes a point in PvT where if you lose an engagement poorly enough, warp ins cant keep you alive and counters will do a lot of damage. to stay alive you need to sacrifice a base and get more than one warp in to defend.

terran won close battle after battle after battle... then protoss wins 1 battle and it's GG instantaneously. really seems like if both players play the same level - protoss wins 90%. terran player always have to outplay to have a realistic chance of winning. the current state of PvT weirdness is depressing to watch imo. i can't remember the last time i saw a terran beat a protoss without the protoss player making a gigantic mistake.
