ALT Starcraft is proud to announce the second installement of The Gauntlet Showmatch Series!
Our second featured pro for this event will be none other then DesRow! The premise is simple: Team ALT challenges a pro to a best of five showmatch. The catch? The pro only has himself vs five members of Team ALT. Our wonderful team of up and comers have proven they can compete at a high level with a near win over Catz in the last installment of the series. The question is now how will our team stack up versus this highly versitile Canadian Protoss desRow?
The event will take place on Wednesday, July 25 at 6pm EST (-03:00 GMT). Each game the pro is able to take off an ALT member he recieves $20. (Prize goes to the winner of each match) Will DesRow be able to take home the ample sum of $100 or will he be stopped by ALT's upcoming stars? As a thank you to DesRow for participating in this event we will providing DesRow with an invite to our upcoming $500 AGL-August event.
The idea of the Gauntlet came about when discussing ways to help improve Team ALT's competitive play and to quell any possible issue with nerves that can arise from playing against professional players. While the ladder does offer this to some extent, a match with money on the line certainly adds a level of complexity to it. This is a great opportunity to prepare our players for the plethora of tournaments happening over the summer. Additionally, we hope to eventually feature other amateur teams in our Gauntlet in due time.
Without further ado, let me announce (in no specific order) Team ALT's five players for this month's Gauntlet:
badcop – Terran – A scary good terran player with killer game sense and great mechanics.
Bails – Protoss – An insanely intelligent protoss who has a mulltiude of verstile builds.
DeaDoX – Protoss – An incredibly versatile French-Canadian Protoss who placed 7th at LAN ETS.
dice – Zerg – A very intelligent and creative zerg player with very solid macro mechanics.
EliGe – Terran – A formidable Terran with a very distinct early-mid game style.
Format:
5 (1v1 matches Winner of each takes home $20)
The match will begin promptly at 6pm EST (-03:00 GMT) and will continue on for as long as it needs to. It will be casted by the Knack and Windy. Make sure you tune in for a chance to win an ALT T-Shirt!
