The gap is still just as big NASL koreans are just weak. Look at IPL4 and the MLG championships.

There are only very few Europeans in those tournaments and they done amasing. I dont get you point. Last MLG we had 2 EU players in top 5 and they had better win ratio vs the koreans

Im not saying there isnt a gap but its getting smaller and smaller every month and more and more foreigner players is going pro

Conversely more and more Koreans are leaving their teams and practice environments.

However, if one looks at actual results over the period of this year it can be concluded that there is still a huge skill gap which foreign professional players acknowled. Maybe the gap is closing some but that can only be determined after a longer period of time than the last couple of months foreigners began winning a few tournaments.

I disagree look at results the last 6 months and you can see a drastic improvements from June/july last year

Premier Events top4:

HSC IV: top 4 Koreans; MC won
IEM Kiev: 2 Koreans, 3 total entered; MMA won
Sao Paolo: 3 Koreans top4; Violet won
Assembly Winter: 3/4 Koreans; Polt won
MLG Winter Arena: 3/4 Koreans; MKP won
Iron Squid: no foreigner made live event; MMA won
IEM WC: 3/4 Koreans; MC won
MLG Winter Championship: 3/4 Koreans; MKP won
IPL4: top4 Koreans; Alive won
DH Stock: 2/4 Koreans; Thorzain won (first foreign winner in premier tournament listings)
MLG Spring Arena 2: 3/4 Koreans; Violet won
MLG Spring Championship: 3/4 Koreans; DRG won
DH Summer: 0/4 Koreans; best overall event for foreigners; Mana won
HSC V: 3/4 Koreans, Nerchio won

So please show me statistics from the last 6 months that show drastic improvements for foreigners. I didn't even include the many smaller tournament wins Koreans have dominated nor GSL.

lol it is very existant.

Sick crowd there!

not anymore dude.

Koreans used to CRUSH foreigners a year ago, nowadays you don't see it anymore as most of the games are so close it can go either way (ofc unless theres some gimmicky unscouted all-in).

Rest of the world has caught up with Koreans even though they still practice significantly less. Just goes to show you how low the skill ceiling is in sc2 compared to BW since anyone can beat anyone at the highest level.

Why do people keep saying this? Koreans are still dominating whether you wanna admit it or not. One tournament won't change that.

Remember the time when whenever say 6 Koreans would be invited to foreign tourneys they would take top 6 in convincing fashion?

Those days are long gone and instead of the gap increasing (which is what logically should happen when koreans practice so much more and are much more dedicated) it has decreased and is still decreasing way too fast.

There's no "domination" anymore, it's just who plays better and who's luckier on a given day.

Lol the gap is getting closer... but it's still very much there. Don't delude yourself... lol

GO ALICIA!

keep telling yourself that, just don't be surprised if Stephano or Ret win NASL (which would have NEVER happened a year ago)

Stephano and Ret are among the best of the best foreigners right now. The best foreigners have always been able to compete against the best of Koreans. The issue is, the LARGER majority of Koreans can stomp the LARGER majority of foreigners.

That's always been the issue.

Look, you got the best foreigners vs average koreans (besides MC). You can't really draw conclusions from that.

exactly. It's all about consistency, koreans have a higher rate of it is all.
