VR/Colo in PvZ only became popular like 2 months after the VR nerf. So no, that didn't matter. And funnily enough, Symbol played a very early 2011 Zerg style in that game - roach/ling/hydra/corrupter. He was just very smart about engaging well and baiting out FFs.
Another funny thing about the supposedly imbalanced VR/Colossus is that I can't recall a single GSL game involving that composition.

I missed the games today but I wanted to come in here and tell everyone that Seed's victory over Symbol is not as big an upset as everyone is making it out to be. Seed is one of the most intelligent players in the game today, he had plenty time to prepare and he had a best of 5 to work with (longer series work better with methodical appraoches).

To be fair, in those days PvZ typically ended in GSL before Protoss got more than 2 bases.

post patch, he's beaten hyun and lucky and lost to coca and moon. those are the only games he's played, his tvz is not baaaaaaadddddddddd.

If we teleported back in time to when Cruncher beat Idra in TSL3, top Zergs would shit on Colossus Void Ray. Zergs hardly used Infestors or Brood Lords back then, the Fungal 'buff' wasn't even that big, and it's not like they buffed Infested Terrans too or anything...
