It's pretty safe bet the winner of group D will be a Zerg, in all honesty. Is anybodys vs zerg any good?
Seriously, it's not his best matchup.

Micro barely matters in late game PvP collosus wars. He forgot range, that was that. 2 Collosi vs 5+ Archons. NaNiwa was down on Collosi because he was investing his gas into something else (in this case Archons). Just because you have more Collosi, doesn't mean you win the fight. Micro barely matters in late game PvP collosus wars. He forgot range, that was that. Then you are ignorant, micro is everything in lategame PvP, it's all about the guy that can force the better engagement. I agree that it didn't matter when you don't have range, but you can easily win a fight in PvP even if you are behind on ups if you have good micro. Doing simple stuff like pulling an immortal foward change the entire fight. Two guys who definitely don't play Protoss at a decent level. You get all your shit in front and your Colossus in back, you don't forget range and if you have better ups and/or more Colossus you win. Simple. Microing only means your Colossus spend less time attacking, unless you Colossus are unprotected it's almost always counter productive to micro them, such is the quality of the unit design. This is just wrong on so many levels. Genius's lack of Colossi micro is what caused him to lose the game on Cloud Kingdom, while Naniwa was actually target firing. It can be risky for sure, and if you screw up, the guy a-moving can roll you. But microing Colossi is many situations can be very important, Sase even micros his Colossi with a warp prism to reduce damage.
This guy will bend any fact or argument to hate on NaNi, just give up.

this!
making less mistakes than your opponent is basically what all late game comes down to. forgetting range is a huge mistake. genius chocked under his own harassment.

If your opponent makes a mistake that loses him the match, then it is NOT luck. You simply played better, because you did not make a mistake...sheesh...He did not research Thermal Lance, how can you still expect Genius to win...Genius had multiple blunders, terrible positioning, and bad decision making in the fight...Sure he did some things well, but I don't care how good you macro, mistakes like that are going to get punished at this level, and Naniwa deserved the win. No it's not, it's pure luck. Absolutely 100% luck. There is definitely a large part of Sc2 and all sports where if you play really well it makes your opponent look really bad and you can force errors. For example in football if you're a team who presses the ball high up if forces the opposition defence into errors because they are rushed on the ball. This game was absolutely not one of those situations. This game was the equivalent of a defender it back to the goalkeepers who then trips on the grass and the ball rolls into the net. There is no skill in that, there is nothing you've done to cause it. Just like there was no skill on Naniwa's part to make Genius forget Thermal Lance. It was all on Genius. Naniwa lucked out completely in a game he otherwise looked likely to lose.
Ask Genius if he agrees that NaNi was lucky that he sucked that game. Imagine him saying: "NaNi was lucky that I fucked up hard." I can't imagine him saying this, but I can imagine him saying: "I made a mistake that cost me the game, in that series I wasn't the best player." It's very unfair to Genius that you'd blame his own mistake in his opponent, this is his mistake to fix, not NaNi's.

Either way you look at it, Genius deserved to lose and Naniwa deserved to win. I feel like an important point here is that you can be lucky, and still deserve to win. Naniwa deserved to win. He was also lucky that Genius fucked up in a huge unforced error. If I'm playing against MVP and MVP has the biggest brainfart in the existence of SC2 and forgets his first depot, and I proceed to proxy in-base 2gate him (which happens to not get scouted too), and I proceed to crush him with my 1337 Diamond league skills, I definitely deserve to win, but I also got incredibly lucky and I won in no thanks to me outplaying MVP, but rather due to MVP making novice mistakes.
Not that Naniwa didn't outplay Genius in some respects - he did have a better composition with all those archons IMO, did indeed target fire very well - but things would have still probably looked a lot different had Genius remembered the range upgrade.

It really doesn't all that much. He made a really trivial dumb error that isn't really attributable to his gameplay, moreso than him ditzing out in that last game. He's shown enough composure to do well in the GSL finals so while composure is a concern for him, as this is the second time he's forgotten range in a major match, I would say that by and large he keeps himself pretty cool in the booth. He also has good strategic gamesense and is very good at preparing for individual match-ups.
