Beasty is so incredibly good...I hope he manages to pull a HerO and turn it around. What do you mean?
Stephano is still playing how he did months ago...

I like Beasty but there's no way he can come back in this series. Terrans are just dropping like flies... Tanks in siege mode are actually quite terrible vs ultralisks.
Even in that first push they just got rolled over though

On the bright side, PuMa versus Alive guarantees at least 1 Terran in the finals.

I don't remember any foreign terran reaching a tournament finals other than Thorzain. The foreign scene has been looking like a two-race scene since 2010.

I think it depends alot on Stephano's ego . . . his major weakness that I've seen is his overconfidence in some matchups. He starts to not take certain people seriously, and forgets maybe how small the gap is between (in example) code S and code A players. That's when I've seen him lose most. Very risky to get lazy at the pro level of SC2

That last game looked like the games I play against my little brother...

I have no explanation for that one, I think Beasty didn't have enough bunkers at his front or something, that push should not have worked as well as it did.

they are good vs marines, banelings, lings and to some extend units like stalkers, marodeurs and colossi... but NOT against ultralisks... ultras are probably the most tanky unit vs tanks (hihi) together with immortals.
tanks even do better vs those unsieged probably :D

even after a first failed attempt stephano still made it :D

well, that push was just... stephano had a lot of stuff.
like 30 infested terrans, tons of lings, some roaches, 6 queens, transfuses.
its just too much little stuff to shoot at for beasty :D

Tanks are pretty useless against a swarm of zerglings.

Beasty was saying the other day that he hated the vZ match up. It doesn't seem to be treating him well here.
|
What happened was that Beasty went for a very tech heavy build that game - he made 4-5 banshees - and didn't have enough MEDIVACS to handle the 3/3 ultras with infestor support. Stephano wasted a lot of units and resources trying to bust Beasty and that was a game losing move, but Beasty wasn't in a position to punish it and when the 3/3 push came to take him off his fourth his 3/3 wasn't done. Stephano attacked at a great timing and that's what won him the game.
Beasty's play style is in a lot of ways outdated. The style Stephano played is outdated too, but his style counters Beasty's. The Terran answer to infestor ling ultra play is fast bio upgrades and A LOT of medivacs. Medivacs counter infestors and forces the Zerg into banelings. You then make tanks against the banelings and ravens and BCs in the late game when the Zergs gets broods to go along with their ultras.

Watching stephano play, i want him to play IMMvp. The mind game and decision making would be.......

you are much much better off keeping your tanks not in siege mode and focusing the ultras with them, it just does splash damage to your own units when it targets lings and ultras on top of your stuff.

Yea, Tanks are good to snipe infester packs(Especially if the zerg clumps them) and against roaches. Swarms of lings just close the gap way to quick and wtfpwn them.

Still, I think most people would agree that Stephano is a tad bit better than Beasty...
