Relatively few Europeans playing today is almost completely due to Dreamhack. Nony SHOULD be in the top and I think pretty much everyone everywhere would agree with that. And Stephano should also be participating but I guess he is just chilling and waiting for the next qualifier that would fit his schedule the best. As to why Idra, Incontrol, Machine, Kiwikaki and Demuslim etc have not participated, I have no idea. They definitely should. Even though monetarily it might not be the biggest tournament out there, it IS actually the biggest tournament as regards to the community and I guess the sponsors should and will also notice that, sooner or later. Basically, if you have not qualified for TSL4, you don't really matter.

If you look at the list of qualified players to TSL3 you will find ZeeRax, Ciara, Cruncher (unknown at the time), etc. That's the beauty of the TSL´s. Embrace it (and pay respects to Mycerion ![]()

Goody and AdelScott were known to be good, but no one expected them to actually take games. Same goes for Cruncher. One of the big problems for up and comers is they have no way to actually GET TO the big tournaments. If these no names have good break out performances then there is a good chance we will start seeing more of them after the event. Plus, look at all the names from TS3 that have absolutely fallen off the map. Many of them, like Mondragon and Fruitdealer, are just plain gone, while many others (whom I won't mention by name), are still around but are a shadow of their former glory. There is no question that this TSL will be far more competitive. You might be right about there being less famous players though, but again, TSL is where players GET famous.

Basically, if you have not qualified for TSL4, you don't really matter. Tell that to Nestea/MVP/etc. TSL4 is big and I'm excited, but by no means is it a "must participate" tournament. I don't see Stephano participating today and I think most people would agree he's the top foreigner who hasn't already qualified (so we can avoid the Naniwa/Stephano arguments). It's not like people are killing themselves to participate in all the qualifiers either. Grubby isn't playing today (played the first two), others have skipped here and there. To be honest the monetary value of the top prize is not nearly as comparable to those of other tournaments, which either have significantly larger cash prizes or significantly shorter time periods (eg. MLG).

Probably he is pissed because of his loss in TSL 2 for nony... Yes, he's definitely harbouring some dislike over a tournament that happened years ago, even though he participated in the subsequent tournament... Simply put it's not really worth the effort for some of the top players (eg. Idra, Stephano) - the rigorous number of qualifiers and strict procedures just to get in make it kind of unappealing. It's great for others though who are willing to put the time into playing 8 qualifiers or whatever to try and hit the main draw.

Obviously he didn't mean that literally, the people on Prae knew who Thorzain was, his mother knew, etc. The point is 99% of the casual public in TL wouldn't recognize Thorzain as any good until TSL3 happened.

Yes, Goody is rolling. Despite being disqualified, he passed Fenix, Cloud, MaNa, Lowely, JonnyREcco and BeastyQT today and graps one of the qualifying spots.
