Well the Zerg 6 queen opening is straight up defensive and Demuslim has clearly been listening to Idra with his fast three bases so yeah, macro games yay! Would you rather see 11/11 rax vs 6 pool? No, but at least slightly move out from Terran when you have some bio. You don't need to wait until you setup your fourth to move out, what the fuck kinda move is that.
And as I type, Demuslim falls. Such subpar play from him, even considering TvZ's current metagame.

Same game as game 1. Two of the same games.

Except he wasnt agressive at all, not a single drop, no pressure on expansions, just left the zerg to do whatever he wanted

Meta-game shift, full bio is considered strongest these days but you have to play aggressive according to the Z tech path which didnt happen in either game

I'm the biggest whiner about TvZ balance, but this game didn't say anything about it. Demuslim made poor decisions and didn't micro well.

he tried to be aggressive in game 1 and lost all his bio to zerglings, remember? you can't be aggressive after a quick 3 CC

Great play from Jonny! Nice to see an upset (I know JR gets far in some tourneys, but Demu is obviously the bigger name).
|
Why would he let the Zerg macro and tech to tier 3, without any pressure at all. No drops and no tanks. Anyway JRecco looking really solid.

Yep!

Ben, this was not a balance issue. You have the infrastructure for ghosts, the opponent is going mass infestor/ling/ultra, make a couple of ghosts and get rid of at least some of the fungals.
|
Because all I needed was 2 more ground range on my queens to get good, that's what been holding me back these 2 years. wat

Hey Demuslim -- try ghosts and drops. Did he even drop once in G2?
|
Nice to see some not as well known players beating established sponsored players..

Nope. Helion harass that was it.

I wouldn't say upset, Jonny plays very solid Zerg.

No.

6 queen openings are really hard to pressure. If you play greedy openings, which is probably the best thing to do vs that type of Zerg play, then its more about mid/late game and taking good fights - but its still quite hard.
People don't have go at Ben for talking about Balance, no one should be interviewed directly after a loss...

Blizzard... Is this what you really wanted? No rush 15 min macro game in every TvZ? =( Balances aside, the second game was incredibly boring to me.
|
Both the UK Zergs looked really good today. Hopefully they push on to become mainstays of the scene.
