Could someone please briefly explain the format? I still don't exactly understand how it works. My main question: can Stephano still advance to the offline finals?
This division is definitely the most fun to watch still, as the top 2 is still very much in contention. Could be any two of Puma, TT1, Stephano or Zenio.
Division 3 is the only comparable one with 4 players still able to take it.
Edit: On that note, when does Puma vs Nightend get shown? Puma clinches a spot with a win there.
NightEnd grandmaster Korea, dont think TT1 is favorised. though what do I know about their mirror? Its PvP afterall and NightEnd cant advance anymore I guess...

IPL on, despite it not being that great of a match. Also, first up is a relatively insignificant match (neither of them are in good shape to make it playoffs) and the actual players don't have a huge fanbase (a 0-6 IdrA will still draw viewers, a 0-6 Brat_ok wont. And it's just the start.

Total Biscuit casting and it's an elimination match for TAC3.
OMFG This game is madness! HwangSin with 0 probes and 5000 minerals and supply blocked. He has to kill his own army or BratOK could force a tie with flying buildings.
Of course he won't, or we wouldn't be watching the game.

Yeah, BratOK has made a fair few decisions that have just thrown a situation where he realistically shouldn't have lost away.
He had two or three chances to kill all the observers and just win because of cloak. He had situations where he could've emp'd everything. He had chances to win the base race.
Does anyone know the tiebreak rules for NASL? It seems reasonably likely that Stephano and Zenio will end up tied for second at 6-2, Zenio with the head to head win over Stephano and Stephano with the better game score. Which counts first?

I imagine score would come first, but I could be wrong.

Or you'd watch the game, and then find out its a draw? Not like replay draws havent been casted before. I've seen some, I remember the last one I saw was NonY vs. Demuslim in IPL YOMT

I don't think they'd send NASL the replay if it were a draw. The result wouldn't matter then.

I'm almost certain it's game scores first (that is, before head to head), especially since the group is so big.
For the people debating - It's game score first. It's easy to see this because Sen is in second place and Ganzi is in third place ( 4th division) they are both 5-2 and Ganzi beat Sen.
EDIT: Oh, it seems NASL does not cout any points in matches that are not played, so liquipedia is full of errors if the NASL website is correct. That would make Sen 11-5 , not 11-7 like liquipedia shows. Would also make Huk 8-4 not 10-4 and so on for the other divisions.

Yeah I was wondering if it was a bit of trolling on his part.
He played like this against violet at redbull, and I saw him doing it a bunch on ladder while he streamed. It blows my mind that it even works. I do kind of like the roach ling way better than trying to stay on pure ling until ultralisk, but still weird.

He wins because his mechanics outclasses a lot of NA/EU players. His APM in the last Red Bull tournament averaged 377, and that is not spam - he had higher EPM than the Korean pros in that tournament. DRG is faster still, I think, but Stephano is closing the gap.
With this speed and his precision, there's a lot he is able to get away with vs. NA/EU players. He is able to fight Haypro's baneling roach army because he is fast enough to separate lings to take out multiple banelings simultaneously while running the rest around. This style that he's playing is not doable without high APM and Stephano is abusing that to make it work.
The problem, though, is that because his mechanics outclass NA/EU players he doesn't see the weaknesses in his build playing vs. them, and that comes back to him when he plays in big tournaments against top Korean pros.
Cloud demolished Zenio there, hit him at timings when he was transitioning. Great games by Cloud, and this is great for Stephano because he is now in second place and has a decent shot at staying there against NightEnd.

Zenio's ZvT has always been mediocre and his big function for Liquid in GSTL is his ZvP (his ZvZ as well obviously, but they've got two other excellent options vs Z in Hero and Taeja). Liquid has other vT options with Taeja's TvT, Hero's PvT and possible snipes from TLO.

I wouldn't even say it's mediocre, it's almost as bad as JYPvT. It's just painful to watch. But yeah, Zenio has some pretty strong ZvP and decent ZvZ. A lot of players tend to always have that one MU that makes them look kinda bleh at time.

The thing about Zenio's ZvT is it seems to be almost purely an issue of understanding the matchup, not mechanics or execution. It's entirely possible I'm just too bad to see the underlying reasoning behind a lot of Zenio's decisions ZvT, but from what I can tell, his ZvT play completely lacks direction and logic. Pretty much the exact opposite of Ret's ZvT.
