See how far NaNiwa got? Stephano is finalist material. Stephano is a warrior at these weekend tournaments, we haven't seen how well he'll do with days of preparation per match. While I don't doubt he could make it far, he's extremely stylistic. With a week of preparation any player in Code S could easily take him out. And so can Stephano take out any codeS player with a week of preparation. I don't get these type of posts... Preparation is a skill that some people excel at and some people don't, its is not so far-fetched to question Stephano's ability to prepare as we have not seen him in that type of environment. No, it is far-fetched as fuck. At most you can say that it is unknown if Stephano is good at preparing against his opponents, because we never have a chance to watch him in tournament like GSL. I am not saying that Stephano would get rolled in GSL, but we cannot simply say that he is finalist material when we have only seen him do well in short weekend tournaments (see: Iron Squid). I personally think that he is "Code-S material" but I wouldn't go so far to say as a finalist.
Agree, GSL is a diffrent level from these forien weekend torunments. Koreans take the GSL much more seriously, as it's their only chance to real shine in their home land (for now anyway)

I was under the belief that he was invited to Iron Squid? Doesn't the group stages count?

I'd like for tournament organizers to think carefully about racial distribution when scheduling matches. Many players, like me, only enjoy watching their own race. If a tournament starts and there's no Protoss in any matches for hours I get frustrated and tend to tune the tournament out. As a tournament proceeds, scheduling to ensure all races have regular broadcast matches is obviously impossible, but for the start of the tournament I truly believe it should be done.
I can't help my self from being annoyed that the Red Bull Lan started out with almost 3 hours of Terran and Zerg play.

Groups were online, only the finals was an offline short weekend event (1 day in fact)?
