He was dismal and in no way deserved the invite he got. That's fine. Players can be bad relative to other pros, we've seen it happen a lot and no one holds it against them. However when they are as BM, as egotistical and with the background of cheating that LastShadow has had, there is some enjoyment to be taken by watching a player like Ret (a good, solid, honest foreign player) absolutely maul him.

My problem wasnt his play but that he quit. Could you imagine greats like MvP or a BW pro just leaving mid tourney for any reason other than like a death in the family? Heck Sheth was out after his second match but came back and beat Sase in his third anyway and then helped cast the rest of the show. Maybe he had a good excuse but there aren't many that I think are acceptable for that situation but we'll see. People have to remember that LS didn't steal a spot, he was invited by Day9 regardless if you agree with it or not but upon accepting the invite he owed it to every player that would have gladly done anything to be there and compete to at least give as much effort as possible so the spot wasn't just wasted.

This probably isn't the best time to gloat about how good he is. And if all you're concerned about is players being very fast... well that applies to just about every Korean and most of the foreigners.

But yeah poor show from LS admittedly he was sick but leaving was possibly the worst thing he could do, makes him look immature and he's going to have trouble ever being taken seriously from now on. I hope he can bounce back because I like his usual attitude to the game of perseverance. Its still blindingly obvious that he's ruled by his emotions still though. : (

Naniwa gets away with stuff cause he is really good player and people acknowledge he has great understanding of the game, if Naniwa say that pro player X is bad he probably still fine as long it is not a top Korean.

If you act like a dick and perform terribly at tournaments people will hammer you. There is no way around this. You can be nice, or you can do well. If you do neither then you should expect what's going to come your way. When other foreigners play badly LastShadow routinely talks about what trash they are, so sorry, you can't have it both ways. And I'm not bragging, I'm specifically contradicting the silly assumption that no one criticizing him is anywhere near his skill level.

Some bad luck combined with his opponents being extremely good. The disconnect was a shame, that could have worked out well for him, and taking a game off of Squirtle, even if not making it to the playoffs, would have drawn a different picture.

The disconnect was a shame, that could have worked out well for him, and taking a game off of Squirtle, even if not making it to the playoffs, would have drawn a different picture. What bad luck? Of course his opponents were extremely good, no one expected him to win. What people are amazed by is just how badly he lost. He was beating himself in those games, his opponents weren't even relevant. If you do an extremely greedy mech build vs zerg and choose to attack with virtually nothing, you will get crushed by roaches. Your opponent may as well be in low masters if you're going to do that. The same thing goes for g1 against Squirtle, he lost to a zealot. You can't tell me that any random protoss player couldn't have done that. And he wasn't in a good position at all before that disconnect, that's why almost everyone thought he plug pulled(which he didn't). In fact he was in a pretty precarious situation, Squirtle was just about to hit a potent timing. If you want to say that one tournament isn't everything or give any other defense of LastShadow, that's fine. But to say that he didn't play god awful is just delusional.

"Premier Tournaments offer an outstanding prize pool, are frequently played out offline, and feature the best players from all over the world." fits the bill imo
