Morrow vs Targa could be interesting, but I think Morrow is the favourite there. I think Puzzle will easily defeat Jinro. Polt vs MC is very balanced, I think Polt should have it. qxc vs Sheth is as balanced as it gets. No idea who will win.

I'm assuming that you didn't watch MLG Spring Arena #2. MC and Polt had a match today live for Spring Arena #2 earlier today. That's why Fionn was asking was that are they really going to be playing today.. not because those two players are at a MLG (or LAN) and if they're able to play or not.

Yes I watched it and you just added more to Fionn's question than he originally said. Ganzi and Huk already played NASL from this MLG. Others have done previously. I don't really expect them not to play (if they haven't played it already).

Wow. What a boss haha. I didn't even realize he did that.
Oh man, Targa needs to attack now before Morrow can reestablish...but nooooo not in that way, supply is back to almost even.
Whoaaa so close. It's like a boxing match where both of them are landing huge blows back and forth despite their skill (ok terrible analogy, but I tried). This is INSANE
It's amazing what changes a season can bring. I remember last season I just could not get excited about NASL, except for the finals. Now, I find myself following the groups closely and really getting interested in the player progress and the content that NASL puts out. I hope NASL continues to roll out subsequent seasons after this one.

Plenty of people, myself included agree with you. I watched all the NASL seasons and last season they only got about 2-3 thousand viewers, and now they average at least 6 thousand, 11 thousand on a good day (I remember they needed over 10k to do the music video haha). With these numbers I think they realize they're doing it right this time :D
Agree, but I dunno, for some reason it feels like the LR threads at least get less love than last year, even though this year's NASL is so much improved.
Edit: ah, if that's the viewer count, then awesome ^__^

He was vulnerable to counterattack at basically every point in the game though. Sheth finally said "screw it I'm attacking", but even if he did that way earlier the same thing probably would have happened.

Just like Day9 says the "way to lose as Zerg is have them show up on your doorstep, and you've made too many drones". That is actually the correct way to lose as Zerg. You're always trying to get away with making as many drones as possible.
On the flip side, How QXC played, that is the way to lose with Terran. Constantly harassing, droping, sniping this, that, denying creep all over the map, taking positional advantages when you are down on material... that is the proper way to lose as Terran. You harass, you control the exansions and the map while you macro- that is Terran gameplay. If you just turtle up and play reactionary, play Zerg.

Yes!! Puzzle v Jinro and then MC v Polt saved for last, so the one I'm looking forward to most must be a heck of a series :3

Yeah I know, not saying staying home was the right choice. Just saying it wasn't an all-in but he needed to do damage with it anyway.
I feel like if I work some small things out I could get it to work;;;;;
Like, the place he blinks in is a really obvious spot and I should put a PF there, I can afford it. And more harass late game, get rid of my marines earlier (16 supply in pretty useless marines for the first 200 army).
For mech to truly become standard against Protoss, a lot of changes need to be made. Puzzle crushed that maxed mech army, and he didn't even make immortals.

nice one jinro although u didn't clinch victory. But its closer than most of us think about mech vs P. I dont know but maybe some pre cast PDD above your tank can help? Maybe slightly more ravens in the end. Hope the idea helps. Terrans fighting!

One of the critiques I had for Puzzle was the lack of Immortals. How does one deal with immortals with mech, when Immortals trade so well against mech units. Ghost EMP is an answer, but there are also templars on the field who also threaten Thors with feedback. What are your thoughts?

I agree with Jinro that there should've been some form of harassment. Puzzle was left alone the entire game and it allowed him to do what he want. In order for Mech vs P you can't stay passive the entire game. Aggression has to happen at some point.
I think for that game specifically having more of a Thor mixture would've been better. They're weaker against Colossi but they're much beefier due to their HP so they can handle reinforcements better, and they're actually more mobile than Tanks due to siege mode.
I'd like to see a few more Ravens purely for PDD since Puzzle had Blink stalkers.
I'd be interested to see how mech would work out if they took away the Thor energy again. It looked OP back when Thorzain used it in TSL3, but the metagame has evolved a lot since then.

That's the problem with phoenix opening, I wanted to harass but I can't do that vs the phoenix because they are faster than hellions.... I'm not sure how to solve it because it also blocks drops and banshee harass.

Spider mines would go a long way, or replace colossus with reaver. The problem is that mech isn't winning as hard in 200 fights as it did in BW, and SC2 army is more mobile AND stronger. That's why I think my problem in that game was the lack of a PF in my main, because it forces my army into a fight in bad position.

I do not know. Such a puzzle can only be solved with careful thought and deliberate and calculated testing. I want to see a viable mech play against Protoss, but at the same time, I do not necessary want to revert to BW, where bio against Protoss was unviable. For me, an ideal matchup is a one where both races have a variety of options to play.
Maybe remove Thor energy for starters, so that feedback doesn't become so cost efficient against Thors. But this has been played with already in patches by Blizzard, so it is not an easy fix. Immortals are another reason why mech is relatively weak, but take away immortals, and the Protoss becomes even more vulnerable in the mid game against MM, especially against marauders. Such a complex game needs complex solutions

Mech's problem is primarily space control, and some anti-air problems.

Out of curiosity, how did that build fair during practice?
Division 5 always tends to have the best games, and it has all of my favorite NASL players. I'm really glad it's also broadcast earlier, since I usually have to miss the endings of weekday broadcasts.
Ouch, MC supply-blocked. Looks like he's going to transition again into chargelot-storm
really awkward FFs, loses his forge at this nat...Polt with a crazy contain and MC busts it away, nice. Polt ahead in supply but MC warps a crapton of zealots into Polt's main with his warp prism
Holy moly, MC is EVERYWHERE, smashing Polt's face in, but Polt does rip through a lot of MC's main too. Supply 90-70ish at the moment! I actually really want a game 3 but don't want to risk MC losing the series
Polt needs to now run the table for any chance to make the playoffs against Targa, White-Ra and Jinro. Which is 100% possible, but that loss against Sheth is going to hurt.
If Polt set up some defense to deny that Warp Prism he would've been in a better position. The storms were great and all, but it was really that Warp Prism that won him the game.

And it looks like Polt switched his best matchup from TvP to TvZ by beating Leenock, DRG, and Symbol in the past two weeks. Which I guess makes sense seeing as TSL has not even Code A level Toss.

Top 2 go directly to finals.
Then there are 5 brackets of 4 people fighting for 5 more spots in the finals. So the next top 20 across all divisions.

Mr. Bitter is right about the first two though, proven in hindsight. TT1 wasn't training hard yet when he had his match and did some weird 2base colossus thing then just gets rolled by 12minute maxroaches twice - didn't even look close. ClouD just died to roach baneling allin two games in a row. It looked close until the fight, then he just died.

I really like Mr Bitter, I think he's a great caster, but I just feel like he is kinda biased with Stephano.
He has a huge Stephano Bias. Everything is based off the Stephano standard for him.

And it looks like Polt switched his best matchup from TvP to TvZ by beating Leenock, DRG, and Symbol in the past two weeks. Which I guess makes sense seeing as TSL has not even Code A level Toss.

To be completely fair, Stephano is kinda the undisputed top foreigner in the world....

No, that's subjective.
Now I don't want this to spiral into a war about whose the best foreigner but there's a pretty justified argument that NaNi is the best at the moment. That being said, I think Steph's a little better right now.
It's kind of hilarious since the next Sunday Show Down was hinted at by implying the person was the best foreigner, so everyone starts going 'Stephano?', nope, it's Naniwa!

And you don't show anything like the same hype for say Mvp, DRG, MKP and other players who are better than Stephano because?

Because he's not a robot and passionate about the foreigner scene / their players, probably because he knows most of them on a personal level. He shouldn't need to restrain himself imo, because it makes his casting more lively and i enjoy that more than being a grey neutral person (minerals being mined, minerals being mined comes to mind).

Also 'cuz they're not in the league?
Haters gonna hate. Also, Korean biased people will always get angry at foreign bias. Nothing to worry about.
