Hyped for Alive vs CatZ, last time CatZ won! Select vs IdrA and Alicia vs Ret are promising matchups too
|
Heh half these players are at MLG, hope they play. I was pleasantly surprised that none bailed on the last set. Good stuff.
|
ThorZaIN 2-0 CrunCher (Yeah, not much to say here. Two players of two completely different levels) Ret 2-0 Alicia (Ret ZvP is a scary thing) aLive 2-0 CatZ (CatZ might take a game) IdrA 2-0 SeleCT (Come on IdrA ffs)
|
ThorZain 2-0 CrunCher (clear)
Ret 2-1 Alicia (could go other way around)
aLive 2-0 CatZ (gosh dont get fucked by connection issues like last time)
IdrA 1-2 SeleCT (IdrA is just living off EG merchandise and pro lessons nowadays)
|
Thorzain > cruncher 2-1 (cruncher still got it) Alica > Ret 2-1 alive > catz 2-0 (ez) select > idra 2-0

How in the world is Thorzain 1-3?

default loss i guess, aLive also lost to IdrA on default loss.
I hope he and ThorZain still make it out of that group tho.

No, all games were played out, but to be fair, he already played the four best players in his group. (He won 2-0 against alicia and lost 1-2 against Lowely, Ret and aLive.)

Anyone else not able to see standings on nasl.tv ?

Did you set all 3 drop downs and press Go?

He means did you set all 3 of the Filter drop down menus and then click on the button that said "Go"?

Is Illusion trolling or is there really not going to be a Scarlett v Illusion Sunday showdown? Haven't heard about this anywhere else, figured it would have been addressed by now.

Was there ever supposed to be this show match?

Frankly, he ought to be at least the second best player in this group, maybe third.

I didn't really see it as much of a surprise, except for losing to Lowely perhaps. aLive is sick good at TvT (70% winrate) and Ret has consistently beaten him in the past.

They announced it on Sunday, but things have been quiet since.

how many times are you going to make that same snide comment?

No RotterdaM/Bitter tonight?
|
They've said a few times that they are flipping the order around a little.

Missed that, thanks!
Also, Catz's stock photo for NASL is hilarious.

It's looking like early next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Really enjoying tonight's broadcast, good warmup before PL.

|
Okay, they just said next week's showmatch is qxc vs NaNiwa. Not Scarlett vs Illusion, if anyone was confused.
|
cruncher is so far behind most pros right now....
|
Thorzain's choice to use Auto Turrets instead of PDD was soooo great.

That's quite a random show match.
|
Damn! I don't know much about WC3 and I had no idea ToD, Hasu, and SaSe were all on mouz together, that's so cool!
|
Oh IdrA! Should pick off that tank!

Well earlier Naniwa was talking about showmatch choice, so I guess that's who he picked?

Idra should stop playing this style I think. He was really good with Mutalisks and controlling them, but his Infestor control really isn't good enough to pull this off consistently.

Yes, I agree. Korean zergs are still doing Mutalisks and working well, and it really suited his style much better.
|
Idra playing poorly. Bad upgrades, not enough movement, loses infestors too much and doesn't use them very well.
|

There has to be a very good reason for a player to switch from a style that he is very comfortable with to one that he has problems with. My guess is that infestors are just essential in ZvT in killing marines, as most top Terrans hard counter banelings with marines now with good splits and fungal becomes key.
|
Anyone feel like Idra is doing this Ling-Infestor-Ultra style off of a low economy? He seems to be trying to do this off 3-bases all the time. The old Idra goes Hive tech too late, the new Idra goes Hive tech too early.
His mechanics are good, as is his early game management. I feel like he's not as greedy as he used to be. He might be getting a lot of drones, but not getting enough bases to support the drones.
Not gonna criticize his decisions, but just an observation I've been making lately regarding his play.

Well IdrA has actually stated that he just feels that Terrans are too good at defending Mutalisks.

poor IdrA T_T
im started to feeling bad for him...
gg select~
|
Lol IdrA RQs as expected. Can understand the no GG as it wasn't a good game at all (I don't GG if I feel I play bad).
|
One of the fastest Idra GG without actually gging of course.

Okay what happened, I saw the game start, went to get a drink and by the time I came back it was over....
|
That was annoying.... he can't even be bothered to try.
|
One Marine in a bunker in the middle of nowhere and he leaves. It was funny when he was meant to be good, now it's just sad.
|
Like Stress, I also missed the game. Somebody please tell me what happened.
|
Was this game played today? After IdrA goes + Show Spoiler +0-4 in MLG Spring Arena 2 , he goes 0-2 vs. SeleCT. What a day for Greg.

Select built a bunker, idra should have noticed but didn't, then quit once it became clear that 6 drones and 2 zlings wasn't going to break the bunker immediately.

i honestly cant remember last time i saw idra won a game. im not his biggest fan but its not looking good for him, i hope he gets in right shape and starts play better.
|
Ret should've had more static defense. He easily had the economy for it.
|
Overdroned. Alicia's army control was not even flawless, often dropping a few sentries and having his zealots trapped behind his Stalkers.

I used to be a huge anti-IdrA fan. He was bm and arrogant and he'd win and it would make me mad. It wasn't because I particularly hated him (he seems like he's a nice guy in interviews), but it was because he was fun to root against. It made the games a lot more intense. It's sad now, he seems like a shadow of his former self. I'd like to see him start winning again - he's an entertaining player that makes the scene more interesting.
|
Way way overdroned. But still 2-3 Spine crawlers could've held that push back.

The OP says that SeleCT won the first game, IdrA won the second and then "SeleCT wins 2-0". Might wanna fix that haha

I share your sentiment. Back in 2010, in the days of the beta and when HD and Husky were kings of the scene, Idra was always the anti-hero, the evil boss that had to be defeated. There were 2 key parts of Idra's persona: His badass, BM personality, and his dominance of most other players. He was dominating the beta, and making strong runs in the GSL Open Seasons. He is the anti-hero of the SC2 scene, but the plot needs a anti-hero that is able to kickass.
Anyways, congrats Alicia!
