Well, it is perhaps the easiest race, as you just build towards your max and your army is very very strong. The other two races are more complex, and its understandable that its the protoss who dominate right now. It will probably balance itself out pretty fast as they practice more.

Wait, what?

The bolded is a matter of opinion. Best watch high level games, maybe play the race(s) and make up your own mind.

I don't think it's a matter of opinion. We've seen time and time again that given 2 players who aren't practicing SC2 12+ hours a day, Protoss will be the stronger choice. It's just easier, requires less grasp on mechanics and game timings. You can afford to miss all your timings because lategame you have the strongest 1A. If Terran and Zerg miss timings, GG.

As I said, this is a matter of opinion regarding the complexity of Protoss and mastery of the race vis a vis other races.

He is better of watching high level play, trying out races himself and making up his own mind.

Personally, I 1A and 2A (admittedly, this can be difficult at times).

Well I have watched a ton of streams from all 3 races, and I play all races on a reasonable level (mid-high master). It took me around 3-4 months to get to master with zerg, like 1 month with terran and only a couple of days with protoss.
Protoss is easier to learn, but not necessarily stronger. Except for lategame.

Sure dude, but I didn't say easier to learn. I meant complexity and mastery (i.e at a pro level).

My own opinion is that I don't know. One reason why I pointed him to deciding himself is there are lots of axes to grind on TL.

Good fun. Anyone know when the next broadcast is? I'm looking forward to watching them improve at SC2, some of them already impressed me considering they've only been playing a few weeks/months and quite frankly a few seemed better than some foreigner pros already which is kind of lol.

Ahahahahaha.

I lol'ed so hard watching some of the sc2 games on VODs.

It's like watching people with GM mechanics/multitasking playing at the game at diamond timings/strategy.

That's exactly what it is. The best mechanical players in the world with no clue how the game works. Give them time and they will adapt.

It's mostly due to the fact that as protoss (at lower than high master/GM level), you can just sit in your base and macro all day for the 1a2a3a 160+ supply push, whereas as the other races you have to either pressure/do damage mid-game, or react to cheese timings adequately.

Macro is ezpz; was macro'ing at NA diamond/master level the day I switched from BW, but it was the timings, scouting, reaction, etc. that take a long time to learn and master.

Exactly. Mechanics are much easier in SC2 (huge control groups). I am still hoping for them being able to make MKP marine micro look bad, but right now they all look horrible

Flash's game wasn't too hot either, but it's ok.

I'd say both of Lizzy's games were very entertaining, but I only watched as far as KT v CJ.

It is on the TL calendar, you need to enable BW in your customization for it to show up, should probably fix that.

But the game was still not good... All SC2 games were on the level of GSL 2011 season 1
Will we see any BW pros playing in GLS/MLG against current SC2 pros?

And are there any netizen reactions yet?

All of the "elephants" are still currently focusing on practicing for the last OSL of BW's history.

Honestly, I would wait for at least a couple of months after they have stopped focusing on BW entirely, which should be around November of this year (this bullshit dual-game Proleague ends in early September).

I facepalmed when I saw that these progamers had to practice for two games, as well as having to focus on BW for the OSL. No way can the games be good, and today was the realization of my fears. The BW sucked ass, with the exception of a couple games, and so did the SC2.

There should be, checkout the Team A vs Team B threads in bw tourney section.

I think the reason P did well isn't cause it's necessarily easier to pick up, but because they have the strongest deathball. From all the Sc2 matches I watched the players were all at a point where they would macro up on 2-3 bases, build shit, then try to attack. A couple drops were (poorly) tried and thwarted, and the games were all decided by armies colliding into each other. When you have all races doing that of course P is going to come out on top, by design they have the strongest deathball. It's not a matter of learning the race- all the pros seemed to be at relatively the same stage of development- it's just that where they're at is reminiscent of 2011 meta where P seemed OP because all P did in non mirror matches was defend until max and push out. Since all the BW pros were doing the same, they won as well.
