The time has come for our seventeenth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win. (Similar to IPL Team Arena, but without the teams!)
When: Saturday, May 12 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Saturday, May 12 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
This week we are doing something a little different with an interim match for Fight Club. Polt and DongRaeGu were not quite ready to play their match this week, so we'd like to thank Socke and SjoW for stepping up to provide us a sick match! The winner of this Fight Club will face the winner of the next one to determine who our reigning champion will be! Socke is a relentless Protoss player that has been in many, many tournaments and had success throughout his SC2 career. SjoW has an equally impressive resume and both of these players promise to show some great games!
Really looking forward to polt vs DRG but this is a very good match in the meantime, I suppose as far as predictions go I'll say socke 5-3, sjow's solid in TvP but socke has excellent PvT and has been consistently improving this year so I'd happily favour him.

Socke's been playing SOOOO well lately... I could see a 5-0 or 5-1 here I'm not even joking. Sjow's good but Socke is BEAST MODE for the last month or two.
Sjow is one of the better Euro terrans there are. He should decimate Socke loving the under estimation of Sjow itll just make it funny once he dominates Socke

Yeah he took out the near full energy templar with snipe and got an emp on 2/3 of the zealots in Socke's army.
I feel like this series just progressed like an anime. Fufufufu, I'm only using 30% of my power, I am surprised you made me put forth effort, I will now Sjow you my 80%.

Thanks maybe you should commentate! I asked because the casters on the steam completely missed the snipe (no mention at all). And apparently couldnt figure out where the emp landed

Haha, I wish. Although admittedly I miss some things when I cast too, very hard in extended series to give 100% all the time.
