its actually not a surprise if we're talking about reason and dakkon
both were dirty in BW, both smurfed in that game too but never got caught.. the only difference between the two of them is that reason is actually good and has a huge level of playing sc2 and can compete in the international scenario while dakkon is just.. dakkon, a mediocre player
All of them are at least masters on NA. Tunico and Potiguar are GM in NA, and Levin is masters but he is probably the most famous player here in Brazil. He used to play WC3 and crushed awesome players like Tod, Soju (korean night elf legend) and Madfrog.

Thx for the information. The games looked very sloppy, so i think they are just nervous.

nah, they are just bad, believe me hehe
but tunico, potiguar, naxx, levin and akhee games will be good to watch, all of them are really good
the bad players soon will be eliminated from the system

dunno why they are making this thing in rio de janeiro
if this was in Sao paulo things would've been awesome, like IEM SP where players did not have a single lag, no technical problems AT ALL, no delayed games, great infra-structure with 100 gb internet and a lot of people watching
yea, the infra-structure at IEM SP was even better than some famous tournaments in USA like MLG Anaihem or IPL Las Vegas..
but no, they are trying to do in rio de janeiro, in a sunny weather, a local very close to the beach and i keep thinking myself if people would rather watch some low mid master players instead of going to the beach and enjoy the pleasant time in a saturday afternoon
but you cant really expect good things from ESL brasil and UOL
The casters are pretty awesome. The studio looks nice... I just hope the internet in rio will stop causing trouble and this could be a nice evening of sc2 with players I am not familiar with, which is always nice. I actually like to see some new players, even if they are not playing at the top level yet, rather than having the same players every 2nd day.
I actually think it is pretty entertaining because: -Great casters -Some new players -Flawed games bring up interesting and entertaining situations quite often and they are a lot closer to the games the average user here on TL would deliever(even if nobody would admit that)
yea most of them are talented players, like Levin, despiron. although they don't practice that much anymore as they did in sc2 launch etc.. but most of the players in this tournament are high masters and some GM, the favourite player got banned and another GM, dakkon.
Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to the Brazilian National Finals of the Starcraft II World Championshionship Series, brought to you by ESL-TV, UOL and Blizzard Entertainment.
--Made this for Kaelaris he needs the pactice, 13 other finals coming up!

Coming from an american user. u guys dont have any good examples either.
And you guys are complaining without proper reasons, because they casted really good games before... Fortune is GM in Europe, Tunico GM in NA and Levin? A Wc3 legend that I cant rly think any american player who was better than him.. Only maybe Nilknarf and Wizard. Anyway, you cant bash the country because I could use the same logic of ur agument about USA.
Do i need to mention the Stephano USA joke? That is just sad, I honestly feel pity for whoever makes that stupid joke, even though it does have some logic inside to fullfill the needs of a nation.
Well, like it or not, Ladder is the main practice for every proplayer, They cant just practice games with their friends or teammates. I gave you a top 12 players and none of them is american, expect 2 or 3.
And what examples can u give to me? Tunico always plays against top american players and he wins half of them.. Levin I dont need to mention anything. Fortune is better than mostly of TOP na players and Potiguar is also really good.
You have a horrible opinion, dont even know half of the players here and is bashing the whole country because you saw some mid master player playing. You're a joke.
Tunico against Fortune in game 3 was really high level play, same as top players from Europe (not trying to compare, but saying the game was rly good in terms of making decision, micro and macro etc)

There's one thing, most of these players (if not all) can't make a living from SC2. They get nothing or almost nothing from their teams and their streams cap at a hundred max. They practice a lot less and of course aren't going to compete with the big ones.

thank you for reaffirming why your a newb, obviously losing to a 1rax marauder bunk rush when u 1g expo is reflective of someones skill level
thank you so much grubby for making this tournament less painful to watch. i`m happy to have a tournament here but it`s obvious that there is a skill gap between our players and the top european players.

there's a reason you haven't seen a bunker rush in GSL TvP in over a year. because its easy to stop.

I cant speak for every team, especially NA ones which typically have less support and infrastructure for players, but I promise you any player who trains primarily via ladder is not winning any tournaments.

playing from Brazil->EU in between casting the brazilian qualifier? Such a boss.
The english casters are in Cologne at the ESL headquarters. But still nice result. Ret doesn't have the best record vs Grubby. Most likely they will meet again in the overall final at the offline NL qualifier.
Oh, this must not be correct then. Still a great result, congratz Grubby

No fellow terrans left . It is harder to play terran from Brazilian ping. (fucks up T micro harder than other races), this is the reason I switched to Zerg when laddering.

It just blows my mind that you don't understand QXC at all. He is a player that loves to throw in timings that aren't necessarily standard and can be very deadly due to his knowledge. I've never met a player quite like him and he's insanely good for doing full time school. Only played him a few times, but even though I got smashed it allowed me to fix up holes in my early game defense. So of course he'll be doing a lot of stuff that may not correspond with GSL. Didn't stop him from taking many games off top Koreans when he was in Korea.
Played Tunico a few times, glad to see him doing well.
Just to clarify things a bit, there's no player in Brazil that lives of SC2. All the guys either study or work. Atop of that, SC has never been a big thing in Brazil, but even with a small community, there were some good BW players. But SC2 is growing, and from 'absolute no support', there is now a 'little bit' of it, nothing close to NA, EU or Asia.
If you'd ask 3 months ago who were the best players from Brazil, the answer would probably be ReasoN (Z) and Lamp (T), but Potiguar and Tunico are not bad representatives by any means.
