Hello everyone! IGN Pro League is thrilled to announce our newest tournament! The Ye Olde Map Tournament features some of the most amazing maps ever created by Blizzard and has a lineup of some of the best players in all of North America! This tournament is meant to be a fun throwback to the early days of StarCraft II and may serve as a way for us to see how far the strategy and skill have progressed since the first time players set foot on Scrap Station or Kulas Ravine. If you're a fan of nostalgia, not-so-balanced maps, and some fun StarCraft games, you better not miss this! Oh, and these games will be played LIVE for your entertainment. =)
We are continuing with two Ro8 matches for the IGN Pro League Ye Olde Map Tournament
When: Wednesday, May 02 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Wednesday, May 02 4:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))
Format
This single-elimination tournament features 16 players from the North America server and is a best of 5 format. This match is being played for the round of 8. The winning player will move on to the semi-finals and the loser will be eliminated entirely! Keep in mind that each round increases the prize money!

NonY easy. Not too sure about the second one. Minigun has improved a lot lately, but Sleep is really good. Don't know his ZvP.

Go Illusion! He's objectively the better player right now, and he needs to make sure he doesn't take any economic risks and prepare against early agression.

Not that this tournament has much of an impact, but I really hope Illusion becomes the star we know he's capable. 16 years old and toppling Code S players.

YOMT has had some of the most fun games I have seen in a while. Cool to see how players are playing these maps with new strats years later that people never did when these maps were originally in the ladder pool.

True, but watching his stream lately he's been playing pretty nicely. And anything can happen in the YOMT tournament.

Aww, sad news. Sleep vs Minigun will have to be delayed until tomorrow, and we will start an hour early to accommodate the extra series on Wednesday. Tonight we still have illusion vs NonY, so tune in!

Sad indeed...don't get off work till 5PM PST, guess I will just have to watch the VOD's later tomorrow to avoid potential spoilers. HD subscription ftw.

I really wish IPL streams wouldn't link me to league of legends shit when it says it's for starcraft. I don't want to give that terrible game any more viewers than it already has.

No, sometimes it doesn't. www.ign.com/ipl usually has LoL on it, and that's what you usually link to on your Facebook page. If it were to link to your TwitchTV channel I'm sure it would be fine.
Edit: My bad, hazy memory. It is still on your Facebook page. It was actually for the #TAC3 Eclypsia vs. Zenex Matchup on April 26th. Read the comments on that post. It kept linking us to a LoL game that day. Not sure what today's issue was.

When our page has both LoL and SC2 live, if it's showing LoL, you just need to click on the StarCraft 2 section to view the StarCraft 2 stream. With an engineering change going live on Monday, the front page stream will be showing whichever stream we have running that has the most current viewers.

So are you going to address this as an issue? If you post a link to a SC2 live stream it should go there. If your new format shows whatever stream has the most viewers then it will just become a LoL steam. You guys should link to whatever the SC2 sub-page is. We shouldn't have to click on Starcraft 2 section when we are supposed to be directed to a live link of the stream.
I'm sure there is some fierce internal competition for viewership numbers at IGN between the 2 games. I'm not sure if you guys linking directly to LoL games whenever they're live (history shows they have larger viewership numbers), will be good for the growth of SC2.
