So after the Ro16 is done now, I think it's a good time to look at the stats of GSL code S so far...
match wins
PvT | 12 - 8 | 60% - 40%
PvZ | 7 - 1 | 87,5% - 12,5%
TvZ | 7 - 5 | 58,3% - 41,7%

with 40 out of 60 matches being non-mirror, we have a very normal number here. But when we look at the PvZ matchup, with nestea being the only zerg player able to beat a protoss this season (nestea > inca), this is a rough number.
but when we look at the remaining players, I think we have a big potential for the PvT ratio to go out of control in Protoss' favor. But if MVP and Taeja upset their opponents (yes I see Naniwa as the favorite against MVP), things could even out quite smoothly.

What a huge sample size, even considering how low the zerg count was

I was thinking the same thing last night. It's not normal for protoss to all of the sudden dominate every other race. Nerf Incoming?

No it's not, look at GSL March 2011, July 2011, and 2012 GSL season 1.

2011 GSL January Code S : 4 Terrans / 2 Zergs / 2 Protoss

2011 GSL March Code S : 3 Terrans / 1 Zerg / 4 Protoss

2011 GSL May Code S : 3 Terrans / 2 Zergs / 3 Protoss

2011 GSL July Code S : 2 Terrans / 3 Zergs / 3 Protoss

2011 GSL August Code S : 5 Terrans / 1 Zerg / 2 Protoss

2011 GSL October Code S : 6 Terrans / 2 Zergs -> The anti Protoss GSL

2011 GSL November Code S : 5 Terrans / 1 Zerg / 2 Protoss

2012 GSL Season 1 : 3 Terrans / 1 Zerg / 4 Protoss

2012 GSL Season 2 : 3 Terrans / 5 Protoss -> The anti Zerg GSL

Let's just wait for the anti Terran GSL :D

Source : liquipedia page of each GSL.

Can you imagine the amount of QQ, when a antiTerran GSL occured?

Probably the same as when it was Protoss or Zerg

I find that last game between Oz and Maru very enlightening.

Oz tried to play the Parting syle, only barely avoiding total failure, then switched to collosus play and won. That templar style is HARD yo.

Wow, so looking at ro8, the number of seasons with more Terran than
Protoss is actually the same as seasons with more Protoss than terrans...

too bad aLive isnt in there. he would be so happy without any Zergs in top 8. and his TvT and TvP is absolutely amazing

kind of unlucky to get surprised by July who did unusual things out of nowhere.

More protoss than terrans in Ro8. MADNESS. I love it. The days of GomTvT are over.

Nothing but PvP and PvT left in this GSL. Guess I can skip the rest of the tournament.

TaeJa is pleased? Although, now we probably won't see PartinG in the finals/as champion because from the group stage interviews sounds like Oz has a lot to prove, especially vs PartinG. A good (??) thing is that MVP could potentially only face Protoss and be forced to play TvP his way out which could give him the focused practice needed to step up his TvP... he could also get smashed, but I hope for the previous. MVP FIGHTING !!~

Do Protoss players have selective memory. Why are People saying that
there hasn't been a p>t ro8 in so long when it happened LAST season. And
MADNESS? It occurs just as much as p>t ro8 seasons...

This is shaping up to be a disgustingly boring finish to the GSL. Only MVP returning to dominant form in what was previously his worst matchup and taking the whole thing would make for an interesting storyline. Sadly, no amount of drama can save Protoss matchups from being soul-killingly bad, and that's all we have left. I miss the GSL October days of ZvT heaven. I'd even welcome the return of GOMTvT over this.

It was called GomTvT for a reason. Nothing was worse than GomTvT. People could stay in Code S for seasons on a single matchup. As Artosis says - the best players atm are playing protoss and I agree. There's exceptions but overall there's a sick good protoss lineup of players who are sick good overall.
