Wow 3 whole people, that's pretty lame to be honest.

The number is irrelevant. All it would take is one email. They look into the things Destiny has said and think "oh shit, no way we want this guy anywhere near us".

It has nothing to do with the SC2 community, that's just how the world works. When you say such things there are consequences, such as no major corporation wanting anything to do with you. Racism is a hot topic issue, a potential PR disaster, Destiny is just a liability due to that.

He can go back to just being a streamer and carry on acting the way he always did. But if he wants opportunities like this, if he wants to get more involved then he has to accept the responsibilities that come with it. That means acting like a mature adult rather than a 12 year old on xbox live and no more calling people gooks and niggers.

If I were a betting man I may be inclined to say that for every 1 preteen Destiny fanboy that is saying they will boycott the event, there are on average around 2 people that dont post on forums that are pleased by the decision.

Either way I still plan on watching ;]

I totally understand why Gigabyte decided to move away Destiny and I'll watch it anyway but Destiny should knew better, when you act like he does it will bring some unpleasant heat.

Okay here is my own completely random estimation :
I actually think that for every person that is out for Destiny's professional life there is 2 people that even tho are not really Destiny fans think its really fucking stupid that people are so bitter and sad. Im personally boycotting this , I really will start to support destiny if this shit keeps going on.

So first we're hurting esports by emailing the sponsors before Quantic over the Destiny situation. Then we're hurting it more by emailing GIGABYTE to drop Destiny. And now Destiny fans are going to hurt esports even more by boycotting the event.

All because someone couldn't understand why calling a Korean a "gook" when he was mad was inappropriate.

This Destiny controversy is starting to hurt other players and that really is going to "kill esports".

EDIT: Boycotting this event also hurts all the players in it; they don't get exposure or viewers - Violet, DeMuslim, Axslav, etc didn't do anything to you. Boycotting it over Destiny hurts a lot of people who had nothing to do with this decision.

Esports deserves to die if they keep on witchhunting players imo.

Esports also deserves to die if we celebrate players who act like Destiny, saying that I think everything about Destiny and Orb was terribly terribly handled.

You mean "player", right? The only other witch-hunts I've seen have been over orb and Katu - both casters. Just because your favorite player got in trouble for saying shit that would get him in trouble in every job out there doesn't mean everyone else's career deserves to be over.

You could argue Naniwa was victim of a witchhunt as well, but he APOLOGIZED for his actions. If Destiny just sucked it up and apologized, whether or not it was sincere, I guarantee he would be casting GIGABYTE no problem.

Oh okay so him saying he wont use any racial slurs anymore even tho he still believes words without context are just words is not enough? Do we have to force him to accept that our ideas are the best and force him to make a fake apology to stop ruining his career? Jeesus christ man.

Destiny makes racist comments and people get up in arms over a company saying they don't want to be associated with him because of how he acts? Some of the SC2 community is so retarded sometimes.

I'm not saying we need to make him do anything. I'm saying his life would be much easier if he'd do that. He can stick to his ideals (which is admirable I guess), but this shit will follow him for the rest of his career unless he tries to make amends.

After this uproar events aren't going to bother inviting him to anything. They know that they can't risk an uproar over his racism and they can't risk an uproar over his fans being mad his invitation got retracted. The more complaining people do at this point the more it likely hurts Destiny.

I did not know that. If he did try to make amends then there is absolutely no reason Gigabyte should dump him as caster.

And here is his statement:

Thank you Magnious.

EDIT: Also worth saying. I don't think there should be an issue here in the first place. Destiny's stream behavior has no influence or relation to his behavior at GIGABYTE. If we were to pick our casters based on past actions on streams we'd also have to talk about Incontrol and IdrA using "faggot" repeatedly. I can see why GIGABYTE wouldn't want to be associated with Destiny, but this is why you vet your casters before selecting and publicizing them.

Last I had heard he was going down screaming "gook" "faggot" and "nigger".

He stated he would stop here: https://twitter.com/#!/Steven_Bonnell/status/198508627726831618
but it got downvoted..and not talked about because it wouldn't be a "cool witchhunt" where people could "sharpen their pitch forks", or whatever reddit calls it.
