If this is true, come on. Ridiculous. Be better than that Gigabyte. I'm not gonna watch if you're gonna cave to the pressure of a few offended people, some of which might only be complaining as a motive to get Destiny kicked from the line-up out of actual dislike, not out of concern of being politically correct or whatever.
Well I have now found a reason to make one of my first post on Team Liquid. I will no longer be watching this event nor do I have any interest in supporting this company since it has now removed Denstiny as a caster. I hope others will follow in this, as it seems the only way to stop people from making more decisions which hurt us as a community.

Well, let's not jump to conclusions though. It's not official yet, unless I missed something. But I'm right there with you.
I wonder if the fallout of people who would just not to watch this event if Destiny is removed would be greater than those who would not watch if Destiny was casting.

this is what you get when people who cant handle the internet are in the internet people complaining and policing everything like its there job. Theres a huge difference between a personal stream and professional event come on now u sad cases this is not about racism its just pure hatred for the guy and the fact that they have something to use.
Overall this just hurts esports since people who support destiny can also write a email to those company saying they wont buy and watch there streams due to the fact that he got kicked from the casting job for something that happened on his own personal stream. Im assuming this is what those internet white knights want right?
Also my first post. I think this is a ridiculous response to remove Destiny, and I (and my friends) will not be watching this event. I would consider emailing them as well, but complaining because someone makes a decision you disagree is petty. You are not entitled to get everything you want. If you don't like him, watch a different caster or match. No reason to ruin it for everyone else (I know not everyone likes him, but many do).

If he doesn't cast it seems like a big mistake, with so many tournaments going on now you need to stand out, a pro player casting makes you stick out a bit in my opinion, without destiny it will probably just fall under the "just another tournament".

I fail to see how I am being the baby, I am simply sticking up for one of my favorite streamers. The company has every right to fire Destiny, but I have every right to boycott the company and the tournament as a result.

Exactly. People freaking out about this need to understand this happens all the time in practically every industry that involves public figures. Destiny's opinions are at the very least, controversial, so why would a company take a risk and employ someone like that. It's needlessly risky on their part.
Well, the gesl just opened the hornets nest and now its too late to stop this I think. Destiny has told his fans to complain to them, so they will be bombarded with people threatening to boycott them if they don't bring destiny back. So now they're in a lose lose situation and are getting harassed by both sides. I can imagine this is going to be very frustrating for gigabyte and I think the organizers should have foresaw something like this happening because now the focus is off the tournament and on to the destiny topic again.

But would they be viewed as a company who hired a racist? Maybe by the few who complained, if they are legitimately offended (and let's be honest, it's likely that not all are legitimately offended). Is that enough to ruin their reputation? Seems to me these people are a very small minority.
This is very unfortunate if it's true. I am going down to MLG the week before and the only reason I bothered looking into staying another week was because of Destiny.
Honestly here is my opinion on the matter; Above free speech, morales, and everything: Destiny needs to be more professional; If he wants to maintain his position of "it's my stream, I can say/do what I want" I will still support him and watch him.
However, he jeopardizes his opportunities in e-sports because of this lack of professionalism in this regard. Honestly, I personally don't think Destiny is racist, but the problem is no matter what context, you have people that will get offended and start witch hunts.
It's bad for everyone, for Destiny, e-sports, sponsors, and everyone else, including we the spectators and community. Gigabyte as a company now have both sides of Destiny fans like myself, and those that are against him emailing them, crashing their website, and throwing buzz-words like boycott around.
Ultimately, this benefits no one and undermines the professionalism and growth of e-sports. Destiny isn't necessarily in the wrong in my opinion, but if he wants to grow himself personally into a community figure, he needs to maintain a level of professionalism so you don't see witch hunts.
When I say professionalism, I don't mean keeping it all formal, I mean staying away from words or other arbitrary things that can/do cause controversy.
To summarize, I will personally support Destiny as a fan no matter what, but he needs to maintain some professionalism as a whole if he wants to be a community figure because of the attitude of the e-sports community
