Comments like these make me want to throw up. This guy, despite having had by far the best results so far in 2012, is still being called out by everyone saying he needs to win a GSL. You can see how hard he tries, and how emotionally crushed he was after the defeats. If that makes you happy, something is wrong. I, personally, dont get the whole thing of rooting against someone.

Lots of players play their heart out, and some people find it a bit immature when he cries every time he loses. Some people think he should man up. Granted, his emotions after a game don't mean he's a bad player inside of the game (unless it puts him on tilt, like perhaps what we saw today), but some people are put off when he acts that way. Some people.

Some people might also say that MKP's bawling is much more about seeking attention (pity) than having a real reaction to his game results.

Or that there are at least 50 players who work about as hard as MKP, and none of those players need to whimper after being eliminated from a tournament.

My experience from watching BW (and most any other competition, really) is that Champions only cry when they win Championships.

See: Boxer vs. Iloveoov EVER 2004 OSL Grand Final when oov beats boxer 3-2 in a close series.

Yeah... because an established bonjwa at the time losing the OSL Grand Final 3-2 to his mentee and next bonjwa is the same as someone who never won losing in the group stages of GSL Ro16.

People who get on MKP for crying have clearly never participated in fierce competition. You become as emotionally invested as physically, probably more so emotionally invested for SC2. Professional athletes cry, win or loss, its even happened before in SC. Grow up people. People clamor about how the Koreans are emotionless robots, boring to watch, etc. And at the same time people are jumping on MKP for showing more emotion than any other player. Sometimes this community just baffles me.

Damn Marineking lost, I guess he's not the best player in the world after all.

Oh well gogo Parting/Mvp/Naniwa/Taeja/Hero/Maru to win this season, would be happy with any of them winning.

Also I love how sc2 is starting to get like BW now with certain players having lots of anti-fans, makes it fun.

My problem with MKP is that he tends to look in agony even when he wins. It's just uncomfortable for me to watch. Personally, I can associate more with someone who is angry/frustrated when he loses and elated when he wins.

Also, it's just fun to root against someone. Especially someone who actually does have a unique personality like MKP.

Exactly man! Fandom and light anti-fandom are fun ^^

Now everyone can fill my PM box with taunts next time MKP owns someone.

Edit: thanks Jathin for that BoxeR pic!

This comment doesn't make sense at all. He still has by far the best results in 2012 and his win rate is still ridiculous. He choked today after his initial games, that doesn't mean he's not the best when he's on top of his game.

It's starting to get really annoying. oh well, I'm just praying for Maru to take first place tomorrow so Parting gets a Protoss and gets knocked out rather than winning the GSL despite having only one good match up.

Did anyone else feel like he mailed in the final series? The MKP that played Taeja definitely wasn't the MKP I recognize. He even seemed less worked up about that loss (which eliminated him) than the loss to Parting (which just put him at 1-1).

Before this series, MKP actually had a ridiculously good record vs Parting. Especially with the ultra-swift 2-1 at MLG, I get the feeling MKP was really confident going into this match and he just got destroyed in the first and last games. He already knows his TvT is a weakness, he just wanted to beat Parting in a TvP (probably MKP's best match up at the moment).

TheStC can't win a straight up fight. Even with advantage after a cheese opening he couldn't muster a semi-decent macro and engagements. Any other code S terran would have beat Farting in that situation. (talking about the 2nd game on Antiga) Of course he keeps cheesing the rest of his games against Taeja as well, only to fail.

I just can't stand the oGs house and its students.

Maybe he has the best results so far this year but if he was truly the current best player he would have advanced.

If he didn't make it because of MLG ( which is entirely possible ) then he shouldn't have gone to MLG and prioritized better in order to be in top physical condition for the most important games of his career. The most important games being Code S and not an 8 man invitational with a prize pool 1/10 or so of GSL first place.

MarineKing's last game is very eerily similar to DRG's last game this season.
Both completely not-characteristic of those two players.
Remember the double ultra-caverns?

Did you watch the first series between taeja and MKP? I think that made it clear who is the better player. MKP was tilted and looked very tired, so he played aweful in the second series. I'd happily put up a hundred bucks if they played a bo7 next week, i'd spot you 1-4 too.
