Before you guys heap praise on Dreamhack for its music, realize that what may be going on here (pure speculation on my part, having some idea of how exorbitantly expensive music rights are) is just that DH, unlike other productions, is willing to risk a copyright suit by broadcasting protected (i.e. any good/popular) music on its streams.

Like, I'm sure TeamLiquid would love to have used popular bands like Justice, Swedish House Mafia, and Prodigy for TSL3 break music, but, being aware of the copyright implications, we asked for (obviously far less popular) user-submitted tracks that wouldn't create any liability / DMCA takedown issues for us.

afaik dreamhack pays for the broadcast license to be able to play popular music.

No idea on the legitimacy of this claim, but I remember IdrA saying on a podcast that DH use whatever music they like and get away with it due to being in Sweden, whereas the US tournaments have to be more careful and it's an issue.

source? If so, that's awesome and go DH!!

either way, I agree with everyone the music is sweet ^^

No source but I remember during DHW 2011 there was a discussion about it and someone from DH clarified that the music license is a part of the main DH event because It's not just a sc2 tournament but a LAN too, so they can use it for the tournaments. something along those lines

Yup, this has been discussed at earlier DH events. Dreamhack is paying stim for the rights (stim.se).

yep that's right ty

TBH Naniwa's PvZ performance here seems to be a strange anomaly...look at his past recent PvZ record in his "shitty" matchup: beating DRG, Leenock, and Nestea (2x) in MLG. I don't think you can ask for a better recent PvZ record than that...

Naniwa was never very solid in PvZ - I remember he got knocked out again and again in Code A by Zergs. He said in his GSL interview that it's a match-up he's not comfortable with, and with all the practice he was doing for Terran and Protoss, I reckon he forgot how to play it.

I'm pretty sure they just pay STIM a fee and can play pretty much any music.

He's beaten Nestea x3 not x2.

Dude, I really hope anyone isn't hating on TSL3 music. That was one of the things that made it great! You guys did a fantastic job!

I literally have it as my ringtone! (download ringtone maker app and "expand your horizon").

I got a half-chub everytime that music came on!

Okay not that last one, but still, that music was FANTASTIC.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)
