Sponsors defray costs, but they don't provide profits. And some of them are just providing equipment or services. Advertising, even to 250k + viewers over the internet is not a lot of money, compared to the costs for the venue, equipment, paying casters/crew, chair set up, bribing the mafia, design and overhead costs, streaming bandwidth costs... There's a LOT of money to be lost in running events. The ticket sales and VIP packages might make them some money, but they start off pretty far in the red. | ||

There's no shame in Stephano losing in that way to MMA, he played what can only be described as flawless TvZ twice in a row. It's very rare to see Stephano ever end up unsettled by multitasking and drops from Terran, but what MMA did on Cloud Kingdom with that four pronged attack, including the multi medivac drop at the natural, was just ridiculous, no one can stop that. People tend to associate nukes with BM, but they're actually incredibly good against Zerg, if you have the multitasking ability to execute them at multiple locations whilst pressuring and macroing back at home. It was also fantastic to see Squirtle avenge his team against MarineKing, very well done to him too. Kudos to IPL, the final day has been produced a lot better than the previous two. It's also so refreshing to have such a small delay between games, unlike at MLG. | ||
