Really looking forward to it!
Infused paid up, Fargo and StjarNaN will be in the main tournament!

No press release about improved equipment (monitors) or tournament computer specifications since last year. Sorry but won't take a blind gamble without a listing of the specifications.
Have fun in Cph.

I hope Kas can bounce back from his IEM performance and play well here

Jimpo figthing.

Why is Dual Sight still in tournament map pools? There are so many better maps out there.
Despite that minor disappointment regarding the map pool, I'm really looking forward to this

Quite a dissapointing lineup compared to last year. But hey, at least a Dane gets to win it this year
|
Wait, can players still sign up or is this the final player roster? Pretty disappointing line up so far.

I don't see a dane taking out the likes of Elfi and Kas. But hoping ^^
|
No StjarNaN or Fargo on the sign ups list... =/
Not only are they better than half of the people you've put down, they are also all paid up
|
|
Think it was organized a bit badly and that's why the players are a bit lacking compared to other major tournaments.
Also, what the hell is with the map pool? No Tal'Darim Altar but you do pick Dual Sight and Bel'shir Beach? It's like you WANT bad maps.

Babyknight to take it EZ

Ahh wonderfull, the time of year when all danes pretend to know how to play SC2... great. O' and dear BearDK... BabyKnight is low gm on EU, compared to the Empire players already signed up, thats AWFUL. So please think before you state something like that as a fact...

first of all: what kind of post is that. My post was obviously not stating a fact, just voicing a hope/an opinion. second of all: check up on your facts before you state something like that as a fact. Babyknight is currently rank 44 in GM. Last season he was rank 1 at one point. The mentioned players are ones who he has beaten several times before, so... stick it in, will ya.
btw. you're AWFUL

|
Go Kas! Very strong player, should be able to go far.
|
I'll be there ! Excited about this tournament!
|
I have to say I'd still love to see a Danish map used in the danes-only tourney.
For example there are two Danish maps in the top 5 of Februarys Map of the Month: TPW The Grid & TPW Rusty Cage.
Sure I'm biased as a map maker, but I still think it would be awesome

Please don't comment on the maps when you have no clue what you're talking about. Tal'darim is only good for 1 matchup, TvT and decent for another one, PvT. It's horrible for anything else than that.
Dual Sight isn't in the mappool, but replaced by one of the new maps that IPL uses as well.
Edit: Bel'Shir is a lot better than Tal'darim. It only suffers in PvP and it's a little Zerg favored, but not as much as Tal'darim is favored to Protoss/Terran.
I'd argue that if you ask any pro-gamer then this is a very good and balanced mappool.
Edit2: Just asked a Zerg and a Protoss pro-gamer:
Zerg: "Tal'darim is the worst map that is still being used. I like this mappool" Protoss: "Actually this is a great mappool haha"
|
I am really looking forward to the event. Although the line-up is not the best I would like to mention it is the same weekend as IPL. Since Copenhagen Games has been held every Easter there is not much to do about that fact.
Anyways see you guys there! .)
|
So far it looks like the winner will be either from Team Empire or from Team Acer.
|
Lineup is a bit weak compared to last year due to clash with IPL4. Still alot of great players and talent around Looking forward to it. And just saw the caster at IEM, he's pretty good If stream time isn't too much simultaniously with IPL I think the community might get their eyes up for this great tournament
|
Looking forward to it! Kas will most likely take it, he is soo goood...
|
I've got a feeling this event will be the perfect chance for a lesser known player to get the gold and develop some fame!
|
Really nice to see Sanshorn Mists in there, but it's not an IPL map it's a ESV map.
|
Perhaps it would be an idea to submit the event to the TL calendar, so people can see the stream visible from TL.net?

Couldn't they choose another date for their tournament? IPL4 and The Gathering are at the same weekend and both have better lineups and bigger prizepools.

Hope StjarNaN will win! Great protoss player.

Yeah, but top8 of Gamer's Assembly France, The Gathering and IPL4 should all be better. At least I'm more interested in them.

Copenhagen Games is always in the Easter holidays. Last year we had tons of great players (MC, Grubby, TLO, Ret, MorroW, Kas, MaNa etc etc - and Khaldor casting), but IPL just really screwed CPH this year. I realize the planning big events will always hurt smaller ones - but the potential from last year was good. Hoping it will have an uncontested schedule next year
|
Damn this will be a great weekend for a e-Sports fan. Copenhagen games for sc2 and cs 1.6 and the Gathering for sc2 too. Maybe some IPL too if I stay awake... Good luck Fuzer, elfi, Protosser, Winfakt and MoD-eSport.

I hope Krrr wins, just because his name is awesome.

how is this event not featured on TL? We've got Kaelaris casting players like Kas, Elfi, Bly, BabyKnight and many more of that caliber. The prize pool just for sc2 is €6500 and its just an awesome event so far.

So is the stream already up? Can anyong give a link?!

On April 05 2012 20:49 BearDK wrote: how is this event not featured on TL? If you mean why this event is not on TL calendar, I assume the CPH organizers haven't submitted the event info as described on this thread.
I would have helped out and done it myself but since I don't know the official stream (maybe Kaelaris' personal stream, dunno) and copenhagengames.com gives controversial info about the starting time (17:00 on the schedule, 20:00 on this update) I don't want to mess things up.

I believe we'll have a few delays on todays stream guys, so bare with us tech guys working as fast as possible to sort the issues. Tech guys predicting MAYBE an hour delay but could be possibly sorted before that.

Yep, not seeing them either, cause I only want to see sc2 streams. They should change it to sc2 if they want more viewers.

I don't know if the organizers of this tournament have thought about the stream quality and content much, but a couple suggestion come in mind while waiting for the next match now (30 min break).
1. Build a stream schedule which tells the audience who plays who and when 2. When there's no match available, display some info about what's coming next, results and general info about the event. It's more useful than a view of empty seats (although some video of the venue is good too). 3. The stream is a good place to display ads from your sponsors as banners and videos. 4. If your intention is to run an event with a bit more stream focused approach, try to schedule the matches so that the downtime is kept minimal. For example, schedule a match for each hour (with a 10 min optional buffer) and rearrange the group play so that it fits the stream schedule. Players normally don't mind the schedule as long as the total time frame for an individual player doesn't stretch too much.
You probably have considered all I've said already at some point, so take this as an observer wishlist.

On April 06 2012 05:19 KalWarkov wrote: so many mid masters players playing there and at the gathering, pretty sad to watch
The point of having these big LANs is (besides other things) is giving local talent a bit more exposure. MLG´s and IPL´s have a lot of mediocre master players as well, they just don´t show them (Before someone gets me wrong, I am certainly not thinking, those tournaments would be at the same level, they are obviously bigger, I am just talking about the format). I think those playdays at Wednesday and Thursday are a good build-up for the bigger matches at the weekend. If you don´t like to watch those, you can still treat these tournaments as normal weekend-tournaments and watch just Friday-Sunday, where the bigger guns play eachother.
Edit: Btw., why is Cupcake in group I and J? There must be smth. wrong at LP.
|
I'll join Kaelaris today for 2 sets..
12.15: Cytoplasm vs CupCake (ZvP) 16.15: BabyKnight vs Dreambunny (PvT)
I hope you'll tune in. It'll be fun!

These are great suggestions. I agree completely.
Also: 5. I'm sure some local Audio/Video-rental services would be happy to lend out some mid-range camera gear if you would show their logo on stream and mention them a couple of times throughout the stream. A camera on the caster and 1-2 "webcams" on the players adds tremendously to the viewing experience. If a nice relationship with AV-rental is established from year to year, maybe later on you will be able to get better rates on gear or maybe even get them to support this event even further. EDIT: Maybe as some barter arrangement. Give out 10 all-tournament family passes or whatever.

It's a big step for a production like this, but of course the way to go if they want to up their production value.
For comparison, Assembly Summer 2012 had 7 guys handling the stream/stage production at all times: a stage manager, stage assistant, stream manager, video mixer, sound mixer, light mixer and a shoulder-top camera man. These people just took care of the production while there were other people managing the tournament and content.

A couple of danish representatives going strong, Sava, who I've never heard about, took out Bly, and the best Danish player, Babyknight, took out elfi (in PvP!). Keep winning!

I'm pretty sure Fargo can take out Kas, I'd like to see that Sad that Krr lost, especially when it was PvP, I'm sure he could have done better in the other match ups, but oh well, happens. GL Welmu!

Ey, this is not the thread for Gamers assembly. :p I could not find one either. :/
Edit: Kas vs Happy in the semi could get strange. They should know each other inside and out.
|
Welmu is pulling an elfi's. He can get to the finals with only PvP. I don't know what it is with finland and its protoss ...
I was expecting elfi and ClouD to do better. Bly is still a online hero so I wasn't counting on that. The other side of the bracket was expected. Kas vs. Happy is difficult to predict as both of them are slumping. Welmu should win against Seiplo if he trained well. After that I expect the terran to win the finals.

As an example of bad decision making from seiplo that game:
1) Goes air vs bio (NO). 2) Never tries to go beyon 5 bases. 3) Never tries to deny Happy some of his 7 bases. 4) Sucidies probes. No dont do that, toss dont have mules. 5) But given that you suicide probes, the only possible gameplan you then could have is to imeediatelly kill Kas production facilities after the first battle through your gigantic warp ins. Thats his only chance. So he should have had a pylon warping in 30-40 units and sending them to HAppys base. 6) Rebuilds air/collosus vs 20 vikings. WTF?

That game was painful to watch

HOW does this work? 1 Base for 15 minutes and win?!

Gotta say, Kaelaris is starting to grow on me. Pretty cool dude :D

GG Seiplo

Very nicely done by Seiplo there.

Four straight games against Happy? Oh my. Well done, Seiplo! :D

Even though I do really like KaS as a solid player, I'd like to see Welmu winning, especially once his contract with Empire wasn't extended Gogogo Welmu :p
|
So nice Seiplo, Ai fighting.
Kas vs Welmu gonna be epic, I like both really much but I gues I'm rooting for Welmu hear GL HF BOTH

It's also his first showing for his new team. It would be really big if he managed to win and I do cheer for him, but I think it's going to be too hard to overcome Kas. He's probably very nervous considering all this, and being young and fairly new on the scene on top of all that.

Yeah that's true, let's cheer for Welmu to do his best!

I called Welmu to win this tournament before it even started. Hopefully he will be able to follow through on that.

He doesn't seem very nervous, in fact he seems really calm. But if you are such a gosu how can you be nervous ever? :p I mean the guy is top 10 GM easily while playing random on ladder for fun and still winning.
PS: No handshake from Happy for Seiplo :p

Maybe Happy couldnt get out of his chair?
What happened in Happy vs Seiplo? Or wasnt the game played yet?

Kas is probably one of the best players to have the least amount of winnings. So he deserves this win.

No he was just sad/pissed I guess. Why would he have to get out of his chair if Seiplo walks right up next to him?
Seiplo won 4:2, not really much more to say.

Play for almost 30 minutes, lose in just 5 seconds due to a poor engagement. Welmu, y u do that?
|
Compared to the Medion trophy which is going on right now the production value of this tournament is quite bad. Kas wins the tournament and we get a shot of the caster, after 1 min it switches to a camera in a corner.
|
Welmu played a really bad game on Daybreak, his army composition was horrible and he doesn't get any AOE damage units in a 30 min game. No storm and only 2 collosi?
|
|
Welmu losing a colossus to a bunker ><
|
Terrible army control by Welmu!

Good shit Kas! Good to see him winning an offline event again! :D

Hooray for Kas!
First LAN victory I think?

Gratz Kas. Finally a LAN win for you. Impressed with Welmu too. Expected elfi to do better, but overall good tournament for finns.
edit: And of course huge props to Kaelaris. Great casting man!

He won WCG Ukraine 2011.
Congrats to Kas, well deserved!
Going to Copenhagen Games again paid off for him, even though other tournaments had bigger prize pools.

I don't know about what BM are you talking, but atleast he beat you. I had some chances to talk with Fargo, and he wasn't BM at all, well with me atleast.

I think Cloud is referring to Fargos massive ladder BM, which he used to do at least (dont know how it is recently)

Disagree, ClouD is one of the most BM players i've ever met irl. Whenever I try talk to him at Assembly, IEM and CPH Games he always told me where to shove it... He actually made me cry at Assembly when I realised he wouldn't accept the lovely cake i'd baked him. What a cruel cruel person.

Don't let his incredible BM get to you man. I haven't met anyone who he hasn't cried at least once because of ClouD. Oh no wait... Goody - but I haven't met him yet.

This is what happens when you try and do something extremely nice to someone who is IRL extremely BM! Lesson learned!
