Remember that one of those foreigner tournaments that MC won was a 2 gate cheese vs WhiteRa at the 2-2 score (at the DreamHack Invitational).
That was also a PvP, and WhiteRa won through extremely risky play. One of his wins came from a four gate where again he got an unscouted pylon to MC's mineral line (apparently his achille's heel or something), another was from expanding while going colossi at the same time where MC had like a 5 minute window to kill him. I like WhiteRa and he's quite good, but it's hard to deny that he just plays incredibly risky at times with his special tactics. It gets him series wins but rarely overall tournament wins and he seems susceptible to other Euroepans who understand his playstyle. He seems to lack the mechanics or tight build orders of many other top level players.

Now you're just putting words in my mouth. I never said that he's the best PvP player in the world, but having a 70% winrate in a matchup that most people consider a coinflip is pretty damn good. I wouldn't be surprised if he has one of the best PvP's in the EU scene right now.

True. 0-3 vs. Genius and 1-2 against Whitera isn't especially brillant. Still, his micro makes him one of the best PvPers in the world, imo. The series vs. JYP at HomeStory Cup was one of the best, if not the best PvP I've ever seen.

Socke took a page out of Genius's play with the Stargate into 3rd expansion and held well, really impressed, it looks like the most up to date play so far in the foreign toss scene, but is micro is kind of lacking.
